Spring 2017 TCC Nursing Students
Hey there! I'm a foundations student this Fall and was accepted with a 3.3 and 92.5 HESI. My best advice is to not give up and keep trying no matter what. I applied for Spring 2016 with a 2B and 1A and a 88.5 HESI and didn't make it. I ended up refocusing and studying my weak areas, raised my HESI and made it in for this Fall. Try not to stress too much and enjoy this term (I know it's easier said than done). If you don't make it it's not the end of the world just take some time to breathe and then get ready for the next application cycle. Rumor is my class is one of the largest ones they let in so you never know how competitive your application cycle is or how many students they are letting in. Give it your all, don't give up and you will make it :)

One of my friends started her Versant program in Feb. She graduated from TCC and passed along some of her old textbooks so I'm excited that I have a foundations book to flip through. I plan on studying dosing calculations, medical term and reviewing my notes from pharmacology. Hopefully we can get some advice on what to study. I don't want to waist the summer away lol. My husband teases me because I studied so hard for the HESI and now I'm anxious to start prepping for the first semester.

I would love to meet up once we all find out. I think this will be a good group. From the little that we know about each other it sounds like there are some similar situations- working students, moms etc...

@klee0127 my GPA for sciences is 3.33 - 2 B's and 1A. I forget about social media as well. This is more or less my only outlet. I deleted Facebook a long long time ago because I felt guilty for wasting time.

@linloza, this is my second. I applied last fall but my HESI was what stopped me from getting in. I'm hoping this go round with a 92.5 I'm good to go.

I'm a thirty one fan and was excited to see how a lot of students also use thirty one products to help organize for clinical. I've got my eye on a tote bag lol.

Same here! One day I'm confident and the next not so much. I keep looking at past threads and tell myself that it's all okay. But I still worry

You should be fine. I looked on past threads and people got in with same GPA and a slightly lower HESI. I have the same GPA and I made a 92.5 on the HESI- Katherine said not to worry. And I've had a few colleagues graduate from TCC nursing and they were admitted with same GPA and same HESI so I think worse case we would be alternates

Anxious too! What are your scores? If you look at past threads for TCC nursing you can kinda get a good picture for what is competitive and what is not

I have to work but it's in my benefit to keep my job too. I work for THR so it's good to keep my name in the system, especially when it comes time to graduate. Full time for my position is 3 days a week so I'm likely going to a Friday- Sunday schedule that way I have weekdays to just focus on school. I know a lot of people at my work that worked full time and completed their ADN programs. They all warned me that first semester is the most difficult but to just keep your head down, prepare and study and you'll be fine

Oh okay. I'm not sure which one I would pick. I'm leaning toward on campus just because I would feel more connected. I've taken a few classes online but I always seem to get more out of the classes that are held on campus.

Are any of you ladies familiar with what the blended, hybrid and on campus options? I'm wondering which one is best. I like online classes but I don't want to be way in over my head.
