  1. I decided to drop off in person, too. Just so I can meet my recruiter and be 100% sure they have everything they need. What date are you taking your OSCE?
  2. I didn't even think of that! I'll do that. It'll at least give me a 3 week head start before I take my OSCE
  3. As long as it's a professional looking letter, it shouldn't matter. They never said anything about mine.
  4. How long have you been waiting for placement? I haven't sent in my application yet. I figured I would deliver it in person before my OSCE on Nov 3. Maybe I should go ahead and send it if it's going to take awhile with placement. Have you taken your OSCE yet?
  5. I'm taking it 4 Nov, too! I'm am having a really hard time studying. The paperwork on NILE is very confusing and with no examples I'm not sure how they expect us to fill it out.
  6. Continental Travelnurse is for real. They've been helping me for almost 2 years now. They have phone numbers posted on their website www.continentaltravelnurse.com They're usually pretty good about getting back to emails. You can try their facebook page too.
  7. @lg_loveliegrace, RN I just now saw your PM and I can't reply because I haven't met the minimum requirement. But I'm scheduled for my OSCE Nov 3 and I trained in the US. Have you taken yours yet?
  8. A few questions for those who have taken the OSCE. I know you are limited on what you can say. But it's hard to study the documentation papers with no examples. I'm not really sure what to write in the care plan section. Does the UK have specific nursing diagnoses? And the assessment (Activities of Living Model) has only 6 components. Does the UK not do head to toe, systems assessments? And a practical question: The dress guidelines are vague. What did you wear for the OSCE? Thanks!
  9. oh, and I have asked to be placed in London, so I'm hoping that's where I end up
  10. Hi evansje (and Nursemicky and ArizonaRNLC!) So glad to hear of some others working with CTN! I am planning on doing exactly the same thing as you: OSCE in November. Come back, enjoy the holidays and then start in early January. If I do that, does my police clearance need to within 3 months of the OSCE or 3 months of my start date? Also, in the application packet it mentions having to take "UK Mandatory Training". Have you looked into that at all? I'm thinking about taking that class while I'm over there taking my OSCE.
  11. I am with Continental Travel Nurse as well. I got my decision letter Sept 1 and heard from University of Northampton Sept 9 and registered for the test the same day. CTN told me they will issue my certificate of sponsorship as soon as I have an OSCE date and they said they already have a job secured for me. I'm planning on flying out there for the test in November and coming back to get things situated and then starting my assignment in January.
  12. I recieved my decision letter and I'm approved to take the OSCE. How long does it take the University of Northampton to get in contact? I've been waiting for a week and haven't heard anything. Thanks!
  13. I recieved my decision letter and the NMC told me through email that I have to resubmit all my documents as well! It took months for me to get all that together! I can't go through all that again. What did they do with all my paperwork?
