  1. Hi Kelly! I haven't heard anything yet, but have decided I am not going to go down this path anyway. I am not enjoying my AandP class and am going to be looking into something else. Thanks for checking on me though! And I'd still like to know if I got in, it is weird I haven't heard anything yet.
  2. Hi! Is this class accepted by the reading hospital? I heard through the grapevine that if I am accepted into the program they will not accept any additional classes from RACC? I was hoping to take AandP II in the fall because I already have all of Reading Hospital's fall courses completed. Thanks!
  3. Wow, the program definitely sounds intense. I am nervous going into something like this while working full-time but I know if I keep my mind on it I can do it. Congrats to you for finishing up all the pre-reqs in one year, that is a heavy schedule. Keep up the awesome work! You're right about Alvernia, it is definitely expensive and I'm glad to see there may be other options out there.
  4. That is good to know! I didn't realize that other schools besides Alvernia would accept the diploma program, but that is great news. I know Drexel is one of the school's that has an RN to MSN program.
  5. Hi pmabraham (sorry, I haven't figured out how to link names yet) I missed the note about an ADN putting you ahead of the diploma program. I have been doing some research on this and RHSHS does have an agreement with Alvernia that they will accept their RN diploma graduates for their RN to BSN program. In addition, many Philadelphia schools have started programs where students with Bachelor's in other areas can take RN to MSN programs. Though, I'm just hoping to get into nursing school at this point. :)
  6. pmabraham, best of luck in your first semester of nursing school! (and all the terms to come).
  7. Thanks again! I know if I get in I will have plenty of questions for them, haha! I'll let you know the outcome :)
  8. I will be keeping my eyes open! Since you are accepted have you had trouble getting in touch with someone as someone else said? If I get accepted I will need to talk to someone about what credits they will accept and I'm hoping that isn't too difficult(if I get in)!
  9. I'm not a nurse so I can't provide much advice on nursing but I do have a bachelor's in business and know what it is like to want to change career paths. My advice to you is start applying for jobs that will provide you with the schedule you want. You mentioned that pay isn't a huge factor so why not try for medical assistant jobs or medical office manager jobs? It never hurts to try. Spend some time figuring out what it is you think you will enjoy and go after it. You might have to take a lower paying job to get some experience, but take that experience and use it to grow. I've put tons of money into my undergrad degree just to figure this isn't the path for me and that is okay. I'd rather have made some mistakes and figure it out now than wake up in 40 years realizing I wasted all my time doing something I wasn't passionate about.
  10. Thanks for all the information, you are awesome! I got a 75.3% on the TEAs and my GPA's are 3.88 and a 3.4 (I previously went to two different colleges). I also have some volunteer experience and submitted an extra recommendation letter so hopefully I get in. The TEAs were nerve-wracking because I had no idea what to expect. I tried to study, but I only registered for the test a few days in advance so I didn't have much time. I emailed the school yesterday and you're right they will be meeting March 2nd. I will keep you updated if I get in. The waiting part is so hard!
  11. Thank you so much! I just took my TEAS this past Saturday and I am anxious to find out if I got in. Do you know if there is a minimum TEAS score that RHSHS has for their program? I've heard mixed reviews about RACC's program, but I have to work full-time so RHSHS program fits better with my schedule. Fingers crossed that I get in!
  12. I received a letter also saying they didn't have two of my transcripts and my essay which I had sent. I resent my essay and was told there was still mail the secretary had to go through. Let me know if you hear anything?
  13. Thank you! I haven't ruled out RACC's program but at this point Reading Hospital's hours work best for me because I need to continuing working at my current while going to school but luckily I have my bachelors in business from Alvernia so I would not have to retake any gen-ed glasses to get my BSN.
  14. Good morning, I have submitted all my pre acceptance items to the RHSN (for the Fall of 2015 evening/weekend program) and was curious how long it usually takes to hear if I will be able to take the TEAs test or not? I am also nervous that one or two of my transcripts may be submitted after the deadline of Feb 1st; has anyone been accepted after submitting their information late? Thank you for any information you can provide!
