anyone use core medical
That's exactly what i make. My housing is 2600 per month and I make 16.50 plus 5.63 per hour per deim. I really do like the place where i am working. The manager and the stff want me to stay permantly, but that is not what i want to do. yes, the insurance is very high, i will have to check into something else. Do others sign up with more than one agenc? how is that done?

anyone use core medical
Coremedical is located in NH and they help you find a job all over the US. They have about 300 travelers ( i think). The place that I am working at I love and will sign on for another 13 week period.

anyone use core medical
I started with core medical last Sept and am on my 2nd assignment. So far they have been very nice and call about once every 2 weeks to see how things are going. Problem is the pay is not that great. They tell me it is what is the rate in the area. I'm in VT at the present time and they have a union, so their pay is posted in a book on the unit. I bring home roughly 650 per week plus housing allowance of 356 per week. insurance cost me about 120 per week due to needing coverage for my family. Does this seem to be the going rate? I have not signed up with anyone else, because i really like the people at the company. Should I check around? My husband is a nurse also and he just signed up with them also. Appreciate the information.

Internet Help for travel nurse
Idaho nurse, thanks for the info. How do you connect to your cell phone? I have a sprint phone and signed up for web access, but have no clue how to work it. Don't mind buying a laptop if I need to. I was under the understanding that all I had to do was type a message into the phone and send it to someones email address. Problem is I don't know how to put the symbol for "at' into the phone. By the way, my husband tried the cable company here and we're hooked up, but I know that I will have to do this again when we move, so the satellite sounds soooo much better. Thanks a bunch.

Geropsyche, anyone?
I've worked on an acute geropsych unit for the past 5 yrs and wouldn't do anything else. There are times when it can be trying and the other times you see patients get better so they can return home. Its not easy by any means. You have bipolar which are the worst. Especially if they cycle fast. Then you have the Alzheimer pt who still knows what's going on at times and your heart goes out to them and their families. Sometimes, I believe its the families that I don't like to deal with as much. you get a family that believes we can bring the patient back to before they were ill. They do not understand that we are here to control the behavior not cure the illness. Once that is done, we send them back to the NH or home with the family. Well, I got off on a tangent. I've been spit on, slapped, kicked, had a computer thrown at me, even an addressograph, which would have hurt if it hadn't been plugged in. There are a lot of good times. You see a pt come in with multiple meds. undressing in the hall, yelling etc.. and we make them better. I've heard some funny stories, but to the patient that is hallucinating it is real. I bought a baby doll in for on of the patients and the next thing I know, she is lying in bed having the baby. You had to be there. Hope I've helped.
