  1. Sounds like they could've called everyone yesterday then. Congratulations! I'm still crossing my fingers for news on Monday.
  2. So you got in right? Nice! I'm not reachable by phone atm, out of the country. Hopefully they email as well!
  3. Anybody have more information? Acceptances/denials sent?
  4. I had mine two days ago. I honestly thought it went pretty well. Got done a bit early, had time for some questions. But it doesn't matter how well we think we did if they feel differently LOL. They said we'll know by the 1st. Crossing my fingers!!
  5. I actually have heard back. About a week ago now. My interview is during the third week of March and they said we should expect an admission determination on 1 April.
  6. I’d be more likely to believe that the self identify portion is for citizenship status.
  7. They gave me that answer when I called them about an hour ago.
  8. I did! They told me to expect interview requests in the next 2-4 weeks. They said that right now, for those "in review" they are looking at our resume, cover letter, and letters of rec. Once they determine whether our qualifications and words fit the job, they will invite us to interviews.
  9. I’m an external applicant. And same, still says submitted
  10. Hello all! Just applied to their winter 2020 program. This would be a dream come true!
  11. Thanks for any answers you have! I'm looking to move to Australia in the not too distant future (probably to Mackay or Proserpine). I'll have about 3-4 years of nursing experience when I move. Therefore, I won't need sponsorship thankfully. As a US based nurse we mostly work 12hr shifts, 3 days a week and where I am we get paid around $35/hr USD ($48/hr AUD) w/o differentials. Is this possible to do in Australia and is it different if you work in the ICU or ED? Do you get paid more for those specialties? What are the nurse to patient ratios? Is there electronic charting? I'd read that a new hospital near Proserpine was all digital. Is OT commonly offered? Lets say I wanted to work 4 12's a week, would that be accepted or are hospitals really strapped for cash and unlikely to offer OT? How much extra would a nurse make on weekends/evenings on avg? How much do you typically lose from your paycheck through taxes and such? I'd be coming over as a Permanent Resident so I'd qualify for national healthcare (and the tax that comes out of your paycheck). Is it expensive to go back for your NP, say in acute care? If I wanted to buy a house in Mackay near the beach (say for about ($600k), would I be able to do that on a nurses salary?
  12. Hey all, first time posting on Allnurses but I've been reading here for years. I'm wondering if nurses in OZ are allowed to work 12 hr shifts 3 days/week. Or if that simply isn't an option there. I'm a nursing student in the US and I'll graduate in Dec 2019. After 3-5 years of working here my dream is to move to Australia and work as an RN. One reason I decided to become a nurse is to have the ability to travel, and that is quite easy to do when you only work 3 days a week (as most nurses do here in the States). I've had difficulty finding this information online in any straightforward fashion. To narrow it down I'm planning to move to Qld.
  13. Do you think its possible to receive acceptance to a school in socal at all with such a lack of healthcare exp and a low GPA? Also you believe that it is not a waste of time to apply to schools that have a small enrollment number?
  14. Thank you for the quick reply! I'm sorry I forgot to put that info in. I live in Southern California in Orange County, and I am definitely willing to transfer out of state. I've tried to enlarge my chances of find a school by looking at pass rates and enrollment numbers for each school on different BRN sites, and researching the ones that have the highest amount of students enrolled with a decent NCLEX pass rate.. I figure that would give me a better shot at acceptance... Is this a logical way to go about it?
