I was selected as one of the CC nurses but due to health issue that occurred after selection but prior to my commissioning. USAF Surgeon General and MEPS reviewed and did not grant waiver. I got the call yesterday morning that I cannot join after three years applying to both Navy and Air Force. My great loss is your gain. Take care of our service members, their families and retireees. Perhaps we'll yet serve together at FT Belvior, VA CC as that was to be my duty station after COTS this March. I'm looking into DoD Civilian nursing next, so wish me luck. As one door closed another opens. Good luck and don't your dare feel guilty filling my boots. Take care of the patient and advocate fiercely. Message me if you like. Belvior, VA as a DoD civilian nurse, which was to be my duty station after COTS in March. That's my next avenue to pursue. Very best of luck to all FY 14 nurses!
