Item for nursing school
I would skip a wrist watch and instead get a pendant watch like these (Nurses Silicone Fob Watch) even if you are able to wear a wrist watch (some programs do not allow them) the constant washing leads to water under the band which causes skin irritation.

Current wait list times...!
No new applications are currently being taken for intakes before the May 2018 intake. BVC is a first applied/qualified system of admission. So once you apply they will let you know if you have a seat or if you are on a wait list for that intake. Those that are wait listed have been known to be accepted into the first week or so of when first semester classes start. You can apply for more than one intake. There are a few classes that can be taken through "open studies" before being offered a seat in the program. Anatomy is one many take ahead of time. Once admitted to the program it is designed to be taken as four trimesters (F/T) straight through (no summer off or other extended breaks are designed in). Many students end up on altered paths through the program due to schedule issues, educational challenges or family/personal circumstances.

lpn program bow valley college calgary
If you are able to get a BVC Practical Nurse seat treat it like the golden ticket it is. They are currently not taking applications for the next three intakes because applications have been so high there is a huge wait list. Apply now for the May 2018 if you have not already applied then get the prerequisites if you still need a few. The teaching staff at BVC is excellent for the most part. The admin is 'scatterbrained' and disorganized. There is a HUGE difference between the MOA/Unit Clerk program and the PN but you have a good foundation to work from. Working part time while a student is possible but your employer must be flexible because the college is not. Clinical times and placements have no flexibility to them. And classes have very little. The study workload waxes and wanes. Sometimes it is crazy and other times you can actually have A BIT of a social life. Finding a job after you have completed the program can be tricky or easy. The thing is hiring managers ask the college about our class and clinical attendance so do not miss classes PERIOD. If you do not have near perfect attendance the job will go to another candidate.

Athabasca Post LPN to RN - How long did it take you?
LPN Graduation is in site. Post grad I am planning on 9 months off before registering for my first cluster A course. Hoping to make connections to others on this route to an RN.

LPN to RN through athabasca
Many students I have spoken to find they are on waitlists for clinical and practicum placements for up to two years. I am just finishing up my LPN now but find I like to keep learning so LPN to BN is likely in my future after a bit of a school break. I will likely start the cluster one courses in about 9 months after graduation.
