  1. I appreciate the replies i have received. gadilady if i could e-mail you i would like to ask a few questions about your career. i may have to make a change in career decisions. but back to the teasers, the cops before they are allowed to carry one they have to have one used on them at full blast. yes it hurts them but does not kill them. cops are not wimps eating donuts, or at the ones out on the beat or streets. thanks to all.
  2. one thing i believe that is overlooked here is that a lot of cops have to deal with drug overdose and drug induced behaviors. these people are extremely hard to bring down. but can be and not hurt. i agree they need more training in recognizing and dealing with both behaviors. i am glad they have their training in cpr. my son is a good cop and would never hurt anyone intentionally. he loves God and tries to give everyone a chance to know him.
  3. I was told that an lpn challenged the California board of nursing and passed to get her rn license. she did not have to go threw the school like the rest of us. i know she has to have a story behind this or this is false. does anyone else know anything about this? it seems that you can work in only california or work for the civil service and work anywhere. curious sr9145:cool:
  4. primadonna; the tests they offer for $75 they told me they provide two tests in 120 days, I'm not sure if they are 75 each or for both if you have done the 75 dollar tests and could clear things up for me i would appreciate it, they also said you had to be inrolled in ec to apply for test nc 1 & 2. but you can go to the learning center and take the test without being enrolled. thanks sr9145
  5. my sister just took the boards and if she does not pass i will pass this information on to her. i have a problem getting started, i can't seem to pass the first test, i am studying the book, excellsior study guide, and lisa's notes. i've been an lpn since 92 so i know my stuff. or the basic i am a hospital nurse. if any one out there has any study guides, tips tudors or anything elso that will help please send it my way i will be an rn before i am threw. god is on my side i just need my angel with me.
  6. I took the nc1 not too long ago and twice and did not make either one of them I am despirate to find help. I appreciate the other fellows advice and will try the practice test they are $75 now. I have test anxiety and read too much into the test. so i wish you all the best in the world. as far as the test i believe the questions are looking for simple answers not complicated ones.

Here in Alabama you would only be able to transfer your credits to an LPN program which would not even an accreditted college. That is how the college and school's get you. they advertise one year or two years but they fail to mention you can only take certain classes at certain times without guidance to know of these things. and the lay overs of no semesters. good luck old folgy i feel iv going to school all my life trying to get rn degree
  9. I have been reading some of your statements. I too am the bread winner in my house. this is why i found it difficult to take so many classes and work. i have to work. i feel and my sister agrees with me she's in this with me (a great deal ahead of me) that college network (the publishing company) was a waste of my money. we would have been better off going straight to excelsior. if i could just start passing my test i can do this but it's getting started with passing and learning their test with me. i learn the material. it is so frustrating i have been an lpn since 92' i know my stuff. i have worked of my career in the hospital setting. the first test come to find out was out date. so here i am waiting for an updated book. does anyone know if Lisa has updated her notes and could you send me her address again. i wish they would have a heart and not charge us for this last test but my luck goes they have no heart. gone for now. sue:uhoh3: :rotfl:
  10. i just took my first test and failed with a d but still failed. the book says i have to wait 60 days before i can it again. i don't want to be at a stail mate for 60 days. i can review the first test and study for the second test. does anyone know if i can take the second test before retaking the first test with excelsior? it is so discouraging i feel why even keep trying but i have been try for so many years i lost track of them. if i can't do it this way i really do quit. please help and give me hope. are any books on test taking for people who read too much into questions and freeze on test out there?
