  1. I applied April 7 or so? and I knew my decision last week so the whole process was really fast!! I think it was only a week from my app being in to the interview invite. YAY!!!
  2. Yay! Things are moving right along. They told me I would know end of May if I got in but I found out today I got into the PNP-PC program. Fingers crossed for everyone!!
  3. I do not think they have started the interviews yet for those who do not already work at Duke. You are totally good!! Would Nora let you send her the PDF and then let her upload it on that end?
  4. I'm applying for pnp Spring 2021 and just had my interview. I think stuff is pretty similar. There's 3 recommendations and 3 essays to write plus a scholarship essay if you choose. I work in the OR so I had 2 surgeons and my manager wrote mine. The interview is 30 min on zoom. They ask you 5 or so questions that everyone gets and listen as you answer. Then you have time to ask. The questions are the same as a nursing interview . (A time when you experienced ______ and handled it well...)
  5. They said I should know end of May!! it was about 20 min of their questions and 5 of mine ?
  6. The interview is definitely like a job interview. Same type of questions. tell me about a time you were frustrated at work and what did you do...that kinda thing.
  7. They are doing the interviews for early admission over the next two weeks, so things must be on track despite everything going on with Covid-19. My interview is next week Thursday at 10AM!! I think this is good news for all because there was some talk about things being delayed and that does not seem to be the case. I will let you know what it is like!
  8. Excited for us all!! Originally I was unsure if I'd get all my stuff in by the early app deadline. When I told Nora this, she did mention to me that it would be fine, my app would go into the regular pool which gets reviewed mid May. So o assume your will turn to faculty review soon!!
  9. I am applying for the PNP- primary care program. Figured I can hang out here :). I work at Duke so I was able to get into the early application pool and my application changed to "under faculty review" today!!
  10. My first degree is in English, so the essays were something I was looking forward to! I am a mother of 4, a karate instructor and marathon runner. I wanted my life experiences to come through and for the committee to sense my determination and attitude through my writing. I have no medical volunteer experience and I have only been working part time for the past 12 years. But I wanted to show that, despite not being a medical volunteer, I have a dedication to the growth of my community through service: I started a mothers group, teach religious ed, coach for the North Carolina science Olympiad and hold numerous PTA positions.
  11. I like the Facebook group idea. I can start one later today. Should we make it closed, open or secret?
  12. I called and they said me missing it was fine. They had me email the compliance office to set up a one on one (which I bet you could do over phone or Skype!)
  13. I looked at the one for the spring 2016 on the admissions site and looked at the courses we take first semester. Wonder if these are the kinds things they will answer at ore orientation
  14. I will be in Central America visiting family during pre orientation: they are letting me do a one on one meeting when I get back. Let me know how it goes! Has anyone tried to decifer the course schedule yet? Trying to figure out when I need childcare.
