  1. As to the lawyer, my friend says they are innocent and it's a class 2 (?) serious enough that a second one will be grounds to be fired. And friend does not know any other way to protect themselves and remove an error from their file.
  2. I really don't know why. According to my friend, the lab has filed numerous complaints lately after years of no complaints, at least this exact complaint. My friend pointed this out at the hearing. My friend called it a tier 2 complaint, I think.
  3. Is this not as serious as my friend thinks? How do you protect yourself? Other nurses on the unit/shift are not very friendly. Not sure whom to trust.
  4. Friend had just started in CCU. Preceptor asked for a blood draw. Draw was done, labeled, and sent to the lab. Lab filed a complaint against friend stating mislabeling. The vial was returned with a different cap than those used in CCU and the label looked like it had been removed and reapplied. How do you defend against an accusation of which you have no proof. It's a lab says/friend says situation. Manager first said obviously lab error but at hearing did an about face. Union rep not much help either. Results will come back next week at the earliest. If against friend should a lawyer be hired? This would be on the record as a first of 2 offenses before being fired.
  5. My friend need to get some insurance and I was wondering which insurer you preferred, NSO or C M & F group? Or, is there some other company you feel is better? I think I'm leaning towards NSO right now. Any help/advise is greatly appreciated. Not sure if the state makes a difference, but it's for Michigan RN.
  6. Thanks everyone. License was renewed within 3 days.
  7. Thanks for all the info and ideas
  8. Driving up to the state would be a good option.
  9. For some reason I didn't get the paperwork to renew my license. My DoN asked if I had renewed and was surprised I had not. I did so on line, but only with 5 days remaining and 2 of them are weekend days. What happens if I don't hear by the end of the month? Also, there was a question about being suspended or fired. I answered honestly that I had, but that case is also being handled by a lawyer and looking like it will go in my favor. That being said, how do I get that off my record? Do I just call the state? Thanks.
  10. Asked the question. They sent an email. Thanks.
  11. Did you ever get an answer? Did you take one of these jobs?
  12. In a given month, what is the average amount of time you have lost your regularly scheduled shift do to census or any other reason? In an average year, how much money do you feel you've lost/missed out on?
  13. Thank you so much, I'm assuming you mean for me to send this via email.
  14. When I was offered the job I was told the shift I would work, how many weekends were required, the base pay and shift differential, and my orientation date. I didn't think to ask any other questions and now I'm not sure how to ask for all this to be given to me in written form, not just verbal. What would be an appropriate way to ask for a written offer?
  15. I have not been at my current place long at all. The reason I would leave is the new job is in a big hospital with significantly better pay. I have not asked as I don't know how, what to say?
