  1. Officially got rejected from both locations. Hopefully I can start at PP in January 2019. Congrats to everyone who got in!
  2. The Milwaukee program starts at the end of May and I submitted my application in October so I'm just a little concerned on what's exactly going on haha
  3. Anyone still waiting to hear back from the Milwaukee site? I still haven't gotten anything and now I think they forgot about my application
  4. Thanks for the update! I just reached out to them today. I know they rank their applications, and I kind of wish they would tell me where my ranking fell so that I can try to plan out my year. The not knowing is very agonizing, especially when my family and friends keep asking me if I got an answer yet. Hoping to hear SOMETHING back soon but I won't be shocked if it ends up being a rejection. Does anyone know how many applications they received this cycle?
  5. Just wondering if anyone else is still waiting to hear back on an admission decision?? I still haven't gotten a decision yet regarding my application and I'm trying to decide if I should reach out to the admissions committee or if I should just wait another week. Also, does anyone know if there are any open seats left? At this point I'm expecting a rejection but maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised.
  6. I'm still waiting to hear back too apa1994. My app was complete on 10/25 and I still haven't gotten an answer. I have already reached out to them regarding th e status of my application and I am hesitant to do so again. I'm getting really antsy though and kind of just want a response at this point so that I can plan out the rest of my year. If I don't hear anything in two weeks or so I'm probably going to reach back out to them. I have no idea how many seats are left though
  7. Nope I was told that more admissions would be going out after the holidays but I still haven't heard anything. I submitted my app on October 19 :/
  8. The tuition for the DE MSN program is $50k, per the school website. That's just straight tuition. I'm not sure what the pre-reqs are for the post-master's certificates though, their website is very vague. But I was interested in the acute care NP post-master's which is an additional 21 credits I believe. I assume those admit both in the spring and fall semesters. Is the midwifery program not offered as a post-master's certificate?
  9. How long do you get before you have to send in the deposit?
  10. I'm in a similar situation, but reversed. I have accepted admittance to a grad program starting January 22, but am still waiting to hear back from the Milwaukee site on an admission decision. I was told further admission offers wouldn't be going out now until after the holidays, and I have a feeling if I am offered admission, it won't be until late January/early February, in which case I'll have already started my grad program. Milwaukee is my top choice so I'm torn. They have until mid-March to send out admission offers. I asked how many seats were filled, and I was told less than half of the cohort has been filled at this time. becominganRN22, I just had my professor email Karen my final grade
  11. halle092, I just had my instructor email Karen my final grade this morning, so I'm hoping I get an answer by the end of this week. Fingers crossed! I got into another grad program that starts in January, so I just really hope they give me a decision one way or the other in the next two weeks so I can solidify my plans and whether or not I need to keep my job lol
  12. Well that makes me feel a little bit better haha. I was told that a lot of the seats for PP for spring were filled from applicants from fall of 2017 that were previously admitted, and by the time my application was reviewed (in November) there were only two seats yet. But some people were offered admission to start at PP in Fall 2018, so I take it they're going to continue to have the same problem. I'm finishing up my last pre-req right now so I bet that's why they haven't made an admission decision for me yet. But my stats are comparable to those who've been recently admitted so now I'm even more anxious to hear back!!
  13. Does anyone know how many seats are left for the Milwaukee site?
  14. I still haven't heard back yet from the Milwaukee site, but congrats to everyone who was accepted! I was already rejected from the PP site so my hopes aren't too high for Milwaukee either. Fingers crossed that I get in and can meet all of you, but if not good luck in school!!
  15. I haven't gotten a decision yet for the Milwaukee site :/ I was kind of hoping I would have heard back by now.
  16. PP is reviewing applications on 11/28, and they already had a review in September, so I'd say half the seats are already filled (just overestimating). Last I spoke to Kelly, there was about 24 seats each semester, unless they added a few more. The Milwaukee site does rolling admissions, so the sooner your app gets verified, the better chance you have of getting accepted is my take (considering you are fairly competitive). My application was verified on 10/19 for PP and the Milwaukee site, so I've just been trying to calm myself down and wait for an answer lol. I was told PP would send out an email 10 business days after the review on 11/28 to the email you used for your NursingCAS app, but does the Milwaukee site do the same?
  17. I think you're correct. The PP deadline is 11/15, and I think they're already reviewing applications. I just need my last letter writer to submit their letter and two of my transcripts to get verified. The rest is done, but the waiting part is killing me. I haven't submitted my Milwaukee app yet because I want to wait until everything gets submitted. My hope is that I can submit that one before the end of the month so I get included in the first pool of applicants. I understand the Milwaukee campus has rolling admissions, so the earlier you get your app in the better. Maybe we'll be in the program together!
  18. Well good luck to you! I'm sure you'll do fine. If I get accepted into Marquette's DE, I'll more than likely stay there for my post-master's for Acute Care NP. There's even a critical care fellowship for NPs in Milwaukee that I have my eye on, but I'm trying not to look too far ahead here haha. What city are you from? I grew up in Milwaukee but just recently moved to Franklin. Which isn't too far of a change haha.
  19. I would go PA over NP. NP would likely end up being longer, and you would take a paycut by working as a RN first before you get your NP licence. Both routes are roughly the same cost, PA schools are about $80,000-$100,000 in total for tuition, not including living expenses. But the salary you'd male evens out the loan cost, and you shouldn't have trouble paying it back. Plus there are loan forgiveness programs for NPs and PAs that you should look into. PA schools require a fairly decent amount of direct patient care hours, which you won't have a problem with since you were a SLP for the last 5 years. The only thing you'd have to focus on is your GPA, and obtaining all of the necessary pre-reqs (biology, chemistry, o-chem, genetics, A&P, microbiology, and maybe a few extra depending on the school). Unfortunately, PA and NP programs cannot be taught in an online-only format. You're going to school to be an advanced practice clinician, not obtaining an online MBA or other degree that is capable of being taught online. These programs require you to be present in class. PA school is tough, and you will need to dedicate a lot of time to studying. That being said, I have tons of friends who went to PA school mid-career when they had young children at home. They sacrificed some family time for two years, and then after that had the career of their dreams. It all comes down to what is most important to you.
  20. Hey! I'm applying to both their Pleasant Prairie location which starts in January, and their traditional campus location which starts in May. My GPA is roughly a 3.3, and I have pretty extensive healthcare experience. My GRE scores are around the 61st percentile for both verbal and quant, and 98th percentile (5.5) for the writing portion. My science grades are the only thing I'm worried about as I was a biology major for the first two years of my undergrad, and I got a few Cs which I'm worried may come back to haunt me. I'm just waiting on two of my letter writers to submit their evaluations and then hopefully my application can be reviewed. I submitted it on 9/25 but I don't know if they go in order of the submission date or the verification date. Fingers crossed!
  21. Hey guys, I didn't see a thread for Marquette's direct entry MSN program for fall 2018 so I figured I'd start one. I just submitted my app for the PP location today for their spring admission, but I am also applying to Marquette's traditional program for fall 2018. Do they review applications based off date submitted or date verified? Hope to start school with some of you soon!
