  1. I agree you are not always going to be a fit for the environment and I used to blame myself especially since I have a family to care for but I learned from speaking with other nurses this the norm for some of us. You have to pick yourself up quick and go and get another job.
  2. It's really hard when you are just trying to perform your job.
  3. Terminated for not meeting job requirements. No substance abuse or Bon issues.
  4. PTSD came from this situation.
  5. Well my family was being attacked and all of the officers stated that they could only hope that the female in their life would do the same.
  6. I am an RN of over 18 years. I have had a hard road like many others and those who haven't Great for you. Unfortunately outside life happenings has destroyed my nursing career and my self esteem. I have been asked to resign and fired over 3 times because of poor decision making. I was just diagnosed with PTSD and fired 2 weeks later. I have a husband and children. I know there is therapy and friends also the blogs to vent but is there some person or company that only deals with damaged nurses or do we still not believe we exist. As I read the blogs the unfairness of what we are asked to do and tolerate it's horrific and then we turn against each other. It was my dream to become and Nurse and to assist other however who assist us. If you are fired it was your fault, why did you resign don't talk about your previous employer, never admit you were human and made a mistake of judgment. We exist! Those who were blamed for doing something wrong in our profession and where can we go to be forgiven or is it just the Board of Nursing who reprimand's us with no other guidance. I am exhausted and tired. Please provide me with some insight of being better at my profession and myself from realistic point of views nurse to nurse.
  7. Wow this is sad when I was a younger Nurse I would have said pull her off the vent but now that I have almost 19 years of Nursing and it has not been the best. I know that the family is holding on to hope.
  8. Those who say get an Attorney don't understand what you have to go through. It is time and money and the board od Nursing is not your friend. You are tagged only at your agency not the bored of Nursing. I would move on and get another JOB. Unfortunately I was stalked and had to use a firearm. I was fired from my hospital of 15 years I was unaware of my PTSD but they made it very clear of my poor performance, the next three employers the same and its hard. I took my city to court for not protecting me and my family and lost. If I could do it all again I would have moved to Alaska, not married and not had children because Nursing does not support what it tells you to support for your patient. Attorneys make money from your despair. Don't do it!!!!! When I get out of my hole and get another job. I will begin writing my book to warn others about the judicial system and Nursing.
  9. I remember being a CNA and HHA it was a good life. Being an RN is not what I thought. I enjoy working without pressure but it seems that this does not exist.
  10. I am also feeling like the Nurse who is ready to get out. I have almost 20 years and I am sad. When I was young I used to let it roll off my back but now I have to work. I have applied to hospice because this is the area I was told that gives nurses a break.
  11. I know exactly how you feel. I was working at my dream RN job for over 15 years and I was forced to exit post an incident....might I add I had several outside problem that I shared with my management and I was still terminated. I know that I am depressed and stressed because I have a had 3 other employments in the last 5 years and I have either resigned because of a incident or I was asked to resign. I know I am a good nurse but I was stalked for 5 years and I think the stress has taken my career. I have children and mountains of bills. My last position just ended the day before the holiday. You have no choice pick yourself up and go and get another job. Try something new. I am.
