Congrats also! Yes, I will plan to do the TEAS and need to attend the Stars. I'm currently figuring out funding (FAFSA, etc.) before I can officially accept. Things are moving more quickly than I expected with the TEAS & Stars dates since I'm out of state and have a part time job and volunteering commitments. Have you officially accepted? BTW, I talked to Lkwd85 and he and his wife (isn't it great they are both going into nursing) have also been accepted to the program, so we are four of the 40 they will be accepting. Maybe the others don't know about this site.

Hi icdattcwsm - I have been granted a spot in the 2016 cohort at TESU. I don't think there's a better program for me. Have you applied also? I wonder why more applicants aren't posting under this thread? It's surprising.

I think my interview went well. I certainly enjoyed the company of all of those high level women. They did a great job of representing the program. They didn't tell me when I would be contacted, but they did say I should check my spam file if I didn't get the email. Since I live out-of-state, they also talked about the dates for the TEAS testing, STARS training, and the mandatory program review meeting. Did they tell you when you would hear? Are you applying for financial aid? If so, have you done that yet?

I had my interview yesterday. Have you had yours? How did it go?

Lkwd85 - Thanks for the book suggestion. I will check it out. In the allnurses threads I have read quite a few tips about passing the NCLEX. Some of them cite supplemental study material they used, even during nursing school, to help them to pass the NCLEX. It's worth spending some time reviewing what everyone has to say.

Congrats Lkwd85! Allnurses has threads well worth reading on prep, including possible questions. In the TESC 2015 cohort's posts I found this: Hey henzoic, thats good, I'm sure you will do fine. They will ask you what your strengths and weaknesses are, why you want to become a nurse ( why are you changing careers). They will also ask you have you ever been in a situation where you had multitask or had to use your judgement, if you saw your friend cheating on an exam what would you do in that situation. Remember to be yourself and just be honest, they are looking for creativity. Good luck!

My undergraduate GPA was 3.56 and my API&II, Micro, Chemistry & Nutrition prerequisites GPA is 3.47. The new nursing school is very exciting. Best of luck finishing up your prerequisites. Stay in touch and hopefully others will join the thread.

I'm from Raleigh and coming to nursing after a long career in business - probably will be the oldest student in the class. I like the TESU program because it's 12-months and they offer a masters in infomatics - an area I'm interested in.
