College campus RN?
Yes I had one interview so far and got many questions answered and then thought of quite a few more. The immunization records is a good one to bring up. There is a nursing program at this school as well so I wonder if they participate in flu shots etc. I am concerned that the nurse in this position will be pulled away from campus duties back to the family practice clinic or there will somehow be conflicting demands. I am very excited though and I hope I get another call back! Do you work much with the student athletes?

College campus RN?
Thank you so much for the details! It was exactly the information I was looking for. This position sounds similar as it is a small college. Working mostly from standing orders. No physician hours. Only the RN and a counselor. Since it is filled by a nurse from the local hospital I found out that college breaks and summer would be required to work phone triage in the family practice clinic. I happened across the the website you recommended and was excited to learn about the professional resources and conferences offered. Do you create or participate in health and wellness programs as well?

College campus RN?
Are there any RNs currently employed on a college campus here? I am interested in a position at a local college. The job is listed by the local hospital but it is for a campus registered nurse ( not an NP). I received a call back and may get to interview for this position. I would love to hear a little bit about the daily work flow, etc. I have a women's health background but think think this would be an interesting job. Any advice or info for me?

College campus RNs?
Im not sure if this is the right specialty to be asking this question, but i'll give it a shot. I am interested in a job as a campus nurse. I have 8 years experience in L&D, perinatology and the like. Can anyone give me a glimpse into a day in the life of a RN on a college campus? I don't know many details about the job, like if there is an NP or physician on staff. In fact the job is listed by a local hospital system, not the college itself. Will i even be considered with my womens health background? Thanks!

Nurses expecting to do too much!
I agree. At my hospital RNs have been asked to make sure the docs learn how to work our new computer system. I refuse to do any such thing. Who is there to watch over my shoulder to make sure I'm doing things right?

L & D travelers
Thanks Ned. I am in a position now where I have the opportunity to obtain both circulating training and ACLS. The desire to start traveling is strong, but If I don't train now I probably won't get the chance unless I am staff.

L & D travelers
Do most of the L & D travelers out there circulate your own C sections? Are you required to have ACLS cert? I am wondering if not having this experience would severely restrict my travel opportunities.
