Is it better to become a CNA or LVN before entering into a Nursing Program ?
I would recommended becoming a CNA before nursing school. For me, I wanted to become a CNA to see if nursing was really the career for me. Being a CNA has actually motivated me to want to be successful in nursing school so that I can move up and become a nurse. My advice is to definitely find a position that is able to be flexible around your classes when nursing school starts. Best of Luck!!

residents say the funniest things
During my clincial rotations, there was an couple that always would sneak cookies in during activities. One of the staff members took the cookies from the lady, and she proceeded to what she thought was "whisper" (actually a yelling voice) to the gentleman "SHE'S SO STUPID! WE CAN'T EVEN HAVE OUR COOKIES!"

Cover letter guidance needed
Just thought I would add one piece of advice. I recently just finished cover letters for my recent job search, and while researching information on cover letters I found one piece of advice that helped me. The tip was that if you could find the recruiter's name and address the cover letter to them it seems more personal instead of "dear nursing recruiter." I don't know if you will find this tip beneficial but I just thought to add it in. Best of luck!

When the family asks questions.
Hello AroseN, In my Nurse Aide course, I believe my instructor said that if family asks questions we can simply direct them to the nurse in charge. Also, I was just offered a job at a LTC on second shift would you mind telling me what your typical shift consists of?
