  1. Hey snwbal41786, I am certified CNA with experience, but I don't recall ever giving them that information since they don't accept resumes with the applications. I don't think I even wrote about it in my proctored essays.
  2. Hi, allomorphicform. I just wanted to let you know that it is spelled Linfield, not Lindfield.
  3. Hey everyone - I still haven't received my acceptance packet. Anyone else in the same boat?
  4. Hey twisted_helix, I am in the summer cohort so can't help you out (sorry!). Did they told you how likely it was that you would get a fall spot? I was interested in trying to move to fall but decided not to when they told me that I had to give up my summer spot to be added to the fall waitlist. It just seemed like a big risk! It's almost like they scared me out of it haha. Did they seem confident about you getting a spot when you spoke with them?
  5. Thanks, sailorjoe! Found it :)
  6. Thanks for putting it together. I unfortunately couldn't find the group when I searched for it on Facebook. Is it up and running?
  7. I think it would probably be best to create a group just for the summer cohort. My feeling is that a single cohort per Facebook group would make things less confusing for people. We'll probably use the group throughout the program, so it will also save people from receiving a ton of information they don't need (from the other cohort, for example). Thanks for taking the lead!
  8. I received an email at 2:00pm PST. Also, MrBuckeye, I interviewed on Thursday and I am from out of town. Hope you all hear back soon!
  9. Summer Cohort! Congratulations, everyone! Also, am I mistaken that I thought we'd be able to mark a preference for summer vs. fall start? There was some talk about that in the debrief session.
  10. @elocinahtnamas, I guess you ended up having to place the deposit at your safety school? What a shame! Hopefully it wasn't too much!
  11. (I just wanted to delete this post)
  12. I agree that the waiting game is tough. I've been compulsively checking my email ever since I read the post from elocinahtnamas that says we should hear back this week. Has anyone applied for outside scholarships? I am having some difficulty finding scholarships that apply to people getting a second bachelor's in nursing. If you've found some good sites or other resources, please share! Thanks.
  13. Hey Court 2889 - I was just accepted and my recommendation was also from a physician, if that makes you feel better!
  14. @born2bns: My first choice is OHSU, but I will place a deposit at UW to hold my spot since their notifications aren't until April.
  15. Lillyambers, yes I received a call. I'm sure it take a while to call all 48 people, so hang in there! Born2bns, I am in CA, too! Bay Area. What about you?
  16. I'm in, too!!! What a relief! What about OHSU, spaceshuttleboy?
  17. Sorry about the formatting! I'm not sure why that happened!
  18. Hey lillyambers, The website says that the ABSN is $8,865/quarter. I am guessing that with other fees and such, it will total about $50,000.
  19. OHSU (in Portland, OR) is my top choice at the moment and, like Penn, their decisions come out pretty late. It's frustrating when all I want to do is plan out the next couple of years! To which program were you accepted? At least you have comfort of having at least one acceptance! Must feel pretty good!
  20. Hi LREYES2, Thanks for your reply! I was wondering when someone might actually respond to this thread! As for interviews, I was feeling anxious, too. I looked at some of the timing of last year's interviews and it looks like most of them took place at the end of January/early February. I guess we just have to be patient!
  21. While I did see the general information about the interviews, I didn't realize that they would only occur over the course of two days! I wonder how many people they will interview. It can't be all that many, given the short time frame. I waver back and forth between OHSU and UW. It would definitely be a tough decision in the miraculous event that I am admitted to both. What is your first choice? UW, right? For any specific reasons?
  22. Is it unnecessarily complicated? Or shockingly minimalist? Haha I feel like the biggest challenge is overcoming the fact that they want hardly any information about me as an applicant. Just give me a couple of pages to bs about myself, OHSU! Also, I continue to have anxiety about missing an element of the application. I am serious when I ask someone to please confirm that they uploaded the same documents: Supplemental App, Coursework Form, Course Descriptions (if necessary). Thanks!
  23. Hey everyone, I was looking to connect with other people who have applied for Penn's BSN Second Degree Program. I received an email stating that interviews for the program would occur between November 2014 and January 2015. Has anyone heard back about an interview yet? Best wishes!
  24. Hey Rrs14, Yes, from what I can tell, there are no essays for the ABSN-Portland applicants. The only items I uploaded were the Supplemental Application, Coursework Form, and a document I put together with course descriptions since my courses were out of state. Other than that, it looks like they just go off of GPA! Somebody please correct me if I am wrong!
  25. I agree that it was easier than I anticipated. The only hard part was squeezing lots of info into a brief two pages of space and one hour time limit (I tend to be long-winded). Did they say that there were only 160 applicants this year? That seems like a large decrease from the number I've heard in years past.
