  1. Hello, I also have this similar question and would appreciate some insight. I currently work on a med-surg/tele floor, almost for 2 years now. Prior, I worked 2 years on a cardiac/vascular stepdown unit. I want to pursue certification but am not sure if I should get the RN-BC or PCCN. I don't mind the med/surg floor, but miss the higher acuity patients on the stepdown unit. Since I'm not sure where I will "end up" in the long term, any suggestions on which certification I should go for? Any downsides of just going for the PCCN even though I might be in med/surg longer? Thanks so much :)
