  1. Is this $1500 take home pay, plus stipend or with everything? Yeah, which agencies and are they based out of Cali?
  2. With travel nursing its alot of "word of mouth" advertisement- whether with a prestigous hospital or agency. If you have been in the business of travel nursing for 20yrs, that should be a no brainer. Alot of times- not all recruiters can pull strings. Also, if one is referred to an agency, you have a reference on the pay, accommodations, etc. One does not go to any job-knowingly, if they have heard bad reviews. Would you? And no one has time to go thru 20 different agencies, lets be for real here-maybe, 5-10...anything else would be word of mouth. So, if you cant answer my questions without talking down, please dont answer at all. Thank you
  3. What travel companies would you suggest offers the best compensation and accommodations?
  4. I think it is low... being that Im a staff nurse and I work per diem on PCU making $43/hr without any differential. Being that you are a FNP, with add'l training and education, I would look for more. Personally I would look at $1600-2000-take home. And $1600, only because you haven't passed boards. But after that - definitely look for more-u EARNED IT!!

Yeah... I spoke with a cruise ship nurse and she stated FREE travel, but not too much more.I would think if you aren't a retired, non-drinking nurse, I dont know about an assignment. I wouldn't want to work 24/7, without at least 1 day off to see something. GEESH!! It would be too much paradise and pina coladas too pass up!
  6. NedRN, You seem to know alot about traveling- when I read your response. By being a seasoned vet in traveling, can you recommend any prestigious agencies to work with. Im looking into CA, and/or AZ in the next few weeks. I have nursing friends, but none that has done any major traveling - which Im looking to get into. Any help with CA or Phoenix, AZ areas would be greatly appreciated.
  7. What areas of CA pays better?? I have heard so many things about North and South CA pay differences, that Im trying to get insight from a nurse recently working there.
