  1. Thank you so much! I missed the email I think. Appreciate it!
  2. Has anyone set up their appointment with financial aid? I recall them saying we would be all have a scheduled meeting with them "in the coming weeks" but I haven't heard anything.
  3. I withdrew from the program for admission elsewhere but I received a financial aid award letter last week.
  4. I believe that there are 70-75 students per cohort. I have no idea about the waiting list or who has already committed to Duke; they really didn't focus on that at Duke Days but I know deposits are due this week so I imagine it'll be a couple weeks for wait-list responses.
  5. A FB page has not been set up yet but will be. I believe they said they accepted ~72 ? Also I think the power points/recordings will be available later this week..
  6. Also accepted to 2nd degree but turning down for Duke. Congrats to those of you who made it, good luck to those on the waitlist and see you soon FJD13!
  7. Hello! I'll be flying in from Oregon and attending duke days on 3/27. Checking out the area with my family as we plan on moving in June. Excited to go on this adventure with you all :)
  8. Yes, received that email on Monday!
  9. @emmysara - don't know if you could provide any insight but I'm wondering what your week looks like, in general? I have young children and will need to figure out child care.. Just trying to get a good idea of whether it should be m-f 8-5 type thing?
  10. I'm in the same boat; if I get accepted to USF I'll likely be declining because of admission elsewhere. Good luck to all!
  11. ..let me continue .. And finally my supervisor when I was a promotions assistant . My essays- I wrote them over the course of a couple weeks.. I gave them a lot of thought beforehand since the questions asked for specific examples, and self-edited a handful of times. My husband edited one draft but I had no one else read them. Anyway, hopefully that's a little more reassuring! I'm intimidated by reading other people's experiences but am confident I will do well in this program, good luck to you!!
  12. Wow! Very cool to read the backgrounds! I'm impressed! @barron.ke I have a somewhat less impressive background that'll hopefully be comforting (ha!). I graduated w/my BS in psychology (major) and anthropology (minor) in 2010 with a 3.78 overall. While in school i worked and volunteered in our schools reproductive health lab., which was essentially helping grad and phd students with their research projects and also a big national midwifery study (my long term goal is to be a CNM). After graduation I worked at an OB/GYN office doing patient services type things. Then, following a move, worked at a big online retailer for motorcycle gear as a promotions assistant. Since having my first daughter a little over 2 years ago I've been home and working on prereqs for nursing school. I have A's in all prereqs except dev. Psych (b). I took that while in undergrad. My letters of rec are varied- one from an MD I worked with, one from a PhDs student I worked with (who is now a professor at a big medical school) and
  13. Nevermind, that was an email from Nora but just with a social media badge thing.. Hmm. Well, lots to figure out over the next few weeks. Congrats again!
  14. ...aaaand the email JUST came through :)
  15. I have a link for financial aid that was not previously there but no "package"..I was wondering about this as well. Also, did anyone receive the email? I haven't yet; there may be more information regarding financial aid there. As for financing, have any of you started getting things set up (even if for other schools?). I haven't started the process yet and am dreading it just a bit but it has to be done. And I'd totally expect some people to drop based on tuition cost so for those of you on the WL I wouldn't worry too much yet :) I will go do Duke Days but not sure which one yet. Coming across the country from Oregon! It will be a big (welcome) change for my family!
  16. congratulations! i also got accepted!!
  17. Great, good to know. Helps alleviate some of the anticipation. I'll be doing a cross-country move with the family, too, so I'm anxious to get plans solidified. Duke is the only fall start program I applied for; the others start in May so we're getting down to the last minute with the move if Duke doesn't work out. Sounds like we'll have a busy weekend planning some things out either way! I hope we all hear the news we're hoping for, good luck :)
  18. I know, I know! Patience. It's been a long 3 months but even longer 2 weeks already. And yes, I had the series with labs completed by the time applications were due (they were required for other programs as well). Hopefully that works in our favor :)
  19. oh i'm afraid of that too! i hope it will be this week. fingers crossed!
  20. any guesses on when this email/status will come through?! i'm really hoping we don't have to wait all the way until friday, i can't stand waiting! good luck to you all and i hope you are all keeping busy as these last few days creep by so slowly. :)
  21. i havent heard the first friday of march...just that it was "anticipated" that decisions would be released within the first week of march (from the email from nora).
  22. if anyone else was curious, i was told it was 742 per credit only.
  23. also, doesn't Duke's program start in August, as well?
  24. ncwildflowers - i'd say I'm more anxious than nervous...i just want to know! these last couple of weeks are going to creep by. good luck to all!
  25. hello. wondering if you guys know for certain the estimated cost of tuition? Is it $742 per credit only or is it $742 per credit plus the full-time comprehensive tuition? thanks in advance!
