  1. I was told that that they will notify the applicants after the last set of interviews which is around June 24th. They are accepting 20 applicants for their Aug cohort and 20 for their October cohort (40 total) It is 4 hours long because they have you wait as a group and interview you 1 by 1 in alphabetical order so if your last name starts with a Z you will get interviews around 11:40am but will have to show up around 7:45am. :/ The HR recruiter is nice and stays with you while you interview so don't worry. They only ask you a few questions and youll be out of there before you know it! Make sure to bring your parking ticket with you to pay. They do not validate!
  2. Did anyone get hired here? If so how did you like the program?
  3. How did you guys like the program? Did it end up being worth while since it is Per Diem?
  4. I also received the invite! Do you guys know how the program works? Is it full-time until we finish? like a M-F 8-5 deal and then they set us up to do per diem? Anyone know about pay?
  5. Yes I got that email today actually! For tele and med/surg
  6. Wanted to create a forum for those who applied to Kaiser in Los Angeles for their Per Diem New Grad Position starting in August. Has anyone heard back?
  7. How did you get this info? I applied to the May 2017 cohort and have not heard back. Im wondering if they even send out rejection letter? What does the math assessment include?
  8. I applied and haven't heard anything I put ER and Tele as my preference. The ones who got interviews, do you have your BSN? I'm wondering if that is why they haven't reached out to me. Has anyone gotten rejection emails?
  9. I am a new grad who is able to get a job at a surgery center almost guaranteed due to the people that I know but I really wanted to work in a hospital in the ER or a step down unit. I don't really see myself as an OR nurse. Should I take the job since I am a new gad and it is difficult to find jobs or should i be patient until I get what I want?
  10. I hate to say but the success class wasn't really beneficial. Don't waste your time. Use that time and study on your own. Sadly everyone in our success dreaded going. The only thing that was helpful was when we had practice questions for upcoming exams. But these questions were sometimes pulled from out of the online resources from the textbooks :/
  11. Littman lightweight stethoscope from Amazon works really well for me. Don't waste money on blood pressure cuff. They provide you with one. You will only use it in skills lab first 6 weeks. You will need a pen light too!
  12. Med-Surg - Ignatavious(wrong spelling lol) Fundamentals in Nursing - Taylor Drug Therapy - Ashenbrenner Drug Guide - Davis I Private messaged you a link.
  13. SOME SUGGESTIONS!!! DO NOT BUY ALL THE TEXTBOOKS! I made the mistake of buying everything on that list and we only used 3 textbooks and the drug guide. I would also suggest buying the drug guide as an App instead of the hard copy, works GREAT during clinical!!! Professors let you use your phones during clinical for drug look up! I have all 3 as PDF/eBooks which is a way cheaper option. I know how expensive it can be so PM for info.
  14. I put all the books(used since its cheaper) in my cart on COC website and its comes out to a little over $700!! As for amazon, it only saved me $100. No way I can come up with this and my financial aid is still in the works. Anyone know of any programs that help pay for books on campus?
  15. Is anyone having a hard time logging in to blackboard? It wont let me log in!
