Germany?
hey MPwifey, I'm a German nurse. I don't know about the procedure for foreign nurses here, but I know, that you need to know the german language, and take all the three tests all German nurses had/have to take. best would be you would request informations from the Gesundheitsamt (Department of health) from the city you want to work in. Than you would have to check how to obtain a working permit. As an American I don't think you should have a lot of problems but I don't know about you LPN license vs. the German registered nurse license (examinierte Krankenschwester). How is work as a RN in Germany? Different! You definetly do more hands-on stuff than in the US You need to know how to therapeuticaly wash, move and tough a patient. Work also differs from unit to unit. sorry that I'm not realy as helpful as I would like to be

little questions (going round & round in my head)
Hi guys, at last I found a GC-sponsor and now I just have to wait until everything is processed and I can go to the interview.. just hope they are gonna accept everything I'm not gonna be satisfied until I have the actual thing in my hands but now my question(s): Because I took the NCLEX-RN in FL and want to life and work here, instead of receiving my license after taking the NCLEX, I "just" received a written statemant saying, that I passed because I don't have a SSN. I want to be prepared 4 everything and I'm already planing for the time I have my GC. In order to get the license I need a fingerprint card, right? how and where do I get it and when should I request it? than, another question: they, the FBON, requirers a special amount of hours in special courses (e.g. 3hr domestic violence). Now I found a webpage where you just can print out the course, read it and send the filled out questionary... it that enought?! also, I took a review course in January 2005 with about 90 hrs of theoratical course on a College... isn't that enough to cover the hours? sorry for questioning so much, just want to be sure I got everything and I want to use every help I can get

I feared so THX Suzanne 4 the info! Well, a smaller hospital would be nice but I really don't mind if it's a bigger facility. I would like to work the 12 hrs shift, mostly nights and/or mornings (1900 - 0700 or 0700 - 1900). THX for helping out!

any idea?
oh THX suzanne for your reply!!!! I would like to work and life in central florida (BEST would be kissimmee/orlando because my parents are living there) but I'm willing to move to other areas in Central or South FL if there is a good job opportunity. during my 3 years of nursing school I worked in almost every area. Psych, ER, Med Surg, oncology, ophthalmology, labor & delivery, home care, geriatrics etc. (for 2-3 or more months) I'm mostly interested in ER and Psych but willing to work in other areas. The size of the facility doesn't metter... (don't they need a minimum bed count to be able to apply for GC?) I think the main concern is, that I'm a newly grad more or less. I received my german license in 2002 and only worked for one year and passed FL-Board July 1005. THX so much for your help

Please, I need advice about endorsement in Florida w/out SSN
yeah, I know that I can't work even if I have the license because I don't have a work permit. Are there special agencies in FL (or USA in general) specialized in that? How do I explain it to the employer?
