So how did everyone's interviews go? The professor that interviewed me was very nice and down to earth and I think it went well! (Fingers crossed) they said they are accepted 90 students for summer and they don't have the numbers yet on how Many applied. I was told 4-6 weeks before I hear anything since this was only the 1st interview wave. So best of luck to all of us!! [emoji2] hope u all enjoy the holidays!

I heard the first part of December because they had CCNE (accreditation) in house last week and since this week is a holiday everything got postponed.

No that's what I was saying. It was just a generic letter. No worries! ?

10/1/14. I applied in early September though.

It was not anything special. Just a generic type letter that read the following: Thank you for your interest in the UTMB School of Nursing. Your application has been verified by Nursing CAS, and we have received all the documentation required to review your application. The next steps are as follows: Over the next several weeks, the Admissions and Progressions Committee will meet to review applications. You may be requested to come to campus for an interview. Please watch your emails for information regarding an interview. The committee uses the information gathered from the interviews in conjunction with your application to make the final decisions regarding admissions. It can take 12-16 weeks from the application submission deadline to finalize all admission decisions. (For example, if the deadline to apply for the program is January 31, all admission decisions may not be completed until the end of May). You will receive final notification regarding your application via email. Your contact information is taken directly from your UTMB MyStar account. Please ensure your information is up to date. In accordance with School of Nursing policies and to protect your privacy, decision information will only be provided via email or standard mail. Admissions decisions cannot be provided over the phone. Thank you again for your interest, and we will get back with you as soon as the Admissions Committee reviews your file.

Hi everyone! I went to the open house at UTMB on Friday. It was very informative. So basically I found out that they are accepting roughly 80 applicants for Summer and that, so far, a 3.2 GPA and a 70% overall or higher on the TEAS V are competitive for the Summer 2015 application period. They also said that they really look at the overall "whole package" of each applicants. So best of luck to all of us! The last email I received from the SON just said that my application was complete and that they would be reviewing the applications over the next few weeks and contacting people for interviews, but that the whole process could take 14-16 weeks.

If you can't make the open house on the 10th, they do them once a month. They are listed on their website. Since you have a friend in the program, do you have any idea what the schedule is like as far as what days class/clinicals are etc?

I also applied for Summer 2015. Everything is complete in MyStar, so I guess we just play the waiting game since the application deadline isn't until 10/15. I'm going to Open House on 10/10. Has anyone else been yet? I'm just wondering if it was informative. Good luck to everyone! Hope we all can get in!
