I found them to be excellent NCLEX practice questions. The 11th edition I purchased also comes with a CD-ROM containing extra questions.

need help for nclex resouces
Hi Ackeem! My advice: don't overwhelm yourself with a variety of resources. Stick to two or three. I was once told that many resources are very similar, and there's quite a bit of money to be made out of NCLEX prep, if you get my drift. I will vouche for UWorld. Get through all 1700+ questions and read each rationale whether you answer correctly or not. NCLEX Mastery is another great qbank. Do at least 2500-4000 questions prior to testing. This will really get you in the mindset and you will learn quite a bit just from this study method. Content-based studying...I personally wouldn't put too much time into it aside from memorizing lab values and other bits of information (e.g. signs/symptoms of Addison's vs Cushing's). I also used the Lippincott NCLEX Q&A Review for NCLEX-RN book. Hope this helps!

PA nclex results?
I live in NY and obviously the process may be quite different, but I had friends test one day after me and their licence numbers showed up two days before mine posted on the NY BON website. I know this probably feels like one of the worst 48 waits of your life (I just went through it myself), but just try to keep yourself busy and not psych yourself out. Quick results should be available soon, perhaps today if you tested on Thursday!

I've changed the group setting from "closed" to "public", so hopefully it will be a little easier for people to find it now. As far as safe neighborhoods, I would steer clear of St Paul street, the Lake Ave area and anytime you hear the words "Avenue A, B, C, D, etc". Some of the safer neighborhoods are NOTA (Neighborhood of the Arts) which includes Park Ave, University Ave, East Ave. Corn Hill is nice too (currently where I live) and it's a straight shot to the school up Mt Hope, about a 10 minute drive.

Hi there jseg04! Congrats on your acceptance. I tried to add you to the group by searching that email address, but nothing is showing up. I don't mind if you send me a friend request, just message me who you are. :-)

Basically New York State is one of the top wine producers in the nation besides California. Wineries and liquor stores are opposed to allowing grocery stores to sell wine because they fear it would mean a drastic loss in their sales. There are many, many wineries located around the Finger Lakes (just a short drive from Rochester), so if you like wine that's where to go. Have you asked UofR if there is any student housing available to you? There are also some useful websites other than Craigslist such as newdigs.com, zumper.com and padmapper.com. I like these sites because they present to you where these available apartments are for rent on a map and allow you to select price range, # of bedrooms, etc. Some of the nicer (and safer) areas are Park Ave, Corn Hill and the area around the nursing school.

The group is set to closed which means anyone can find the group, but only members can see posts. I'll check with customer service to see if they know what's going on. In the meantime, if you want you can send me a friend request and I can add you to the group. You can find me by searching with my email address which is [email protected]. Continuing with your comments above...I live in Corn Hill which I've found to be affordable and quiet. However I miss the atmosphere of Park Ave so I'm probably moving back there in November. Also, they're just finishing completion on the new lofts on Mount Hope Ave which I believe are now being leased. I think they're being geared toward URMC students due to the close proximity to Strong and the nursing school, so this might be something to look into as well. It can't be more than a 10 minute walk to Helen Wood Hall from the lofts. My advice to anyone moving out here from a warmer climate would be to move as close to the nursing school as possible. Our Western NY winters can be brutal and Rochester tends to see a great deal of snow during the period of January-March. I would even go so far as to say that if possible, try to move someplace within 15-20 minute walking distance of the nursing school to avoid driving during some of our more severe weather. Also, I love Trader Joe's but unlike many other states, ours does not sell wine due to state law. It's too bad, I miss my $3 bottles of Charles Shaw when I lived in NC. Anyway, you'll also come to fall in love with (in my opinion) the most sacred and holy of grocery chains, a paradise we call Wegmans. Just trust me on this one.

I'm trying to create a group for our cohort on Facebook, but it won't allow me to without at least adding a friend to the group. Anyone on here want to request me so I can get this started? You'll have to search me by my email address which is [email protected]. My name on Facebook is "Billy Dee".

Thank you canelamayra for providing that information. It sheds some light on where we are in the process and it sounds like, hopefully, calls will begin this week or next week at the earliest. I don't know if the lack of posts here has anything to do with number of applicants for this cohort, but it would be nice to think our chances are better. I hope we all get in!

University of Rochester- Accelerated Program
I think we all feel like that in some capacity. Currently I have not applied to others schools. I live in Rochester and I'm from the area, so ideally I would like to stay here for school. I want to complete my degree in an accelerated program and UofR was the closest option. Where in MA are you from? What made you interested in nursing?

University of Rochester ABSN Spring 2015
I'm from the Rochester area and I've been living in the city for a few years now. I got my degree in fine arts (big switch, I know). I realized after college that art, while still a great interest of mine, may not be the best career path in the current job market. I have family in the health care industry, some of whom are nurses. After a great deal of chatting with them and contemplation over the last year, I decided I'd give it a shot.

I hope we hear soon as well! I emailed last week and was told no decisions have been made yet, but by the end of September.

University of Rochester- Accelerated Program
Hi there jodianh. I applied for the ABPNN for Spring 2015, had my interview in late July and am waiting to hear whether I've been accepted. I emailed Admissions last week to check up on the status of my application and I was told no decisions have been made, but by the end of September. According to a thread on this site last year around this time, people began reporting they were getting phone calls around September 18th. So, the earliest we could hear something is this week. I hope we get in!

University of Rochester ABSN Spring 2015
Hello everyone! I found this thread by running a Google search, hoping there are others similarly situated. It appears that I'm in luck. I live in Rochester and I've applied for the ABPNN for entry in Spring 2015. Had my interview in late July and I've been waiting on pins and needles ever since! I haven't heard anything yet, but according to a posting I found from last year it seemed those who were accepted began receiving calls around September 18th. If the same holds true for this year, hopefully we shall hear something beginning next week!
