I am a third year nursing student at Valpo University. I worked the past summer as a cna at a local nursing home. I enjoyed the time with the residents, but it made me sad that my co-workers didn't share in my enthusiasm for the interaction part of the job. They would just rush in the residents room and rush out. I was shocked at how uncaring some of them were. Is this the way it is? I hope not, because I am the type of person who cares about people, especially the elderly. I haven't decided what I want to specialize in. Any ideas? I am 20, and can't wait to graduate.
