  1. Hi all! I'm graduating in Dec. 2016 from GWU's ABSN program and will be taking the NCLEX in january. I'm interested in Presbyterian's and NYU's residency programs as well as any other new york hospital realistically that will take new grads, but am having difficulty figuring out when I should start applying. Does anyone know if there are specific applications for any of the new york hospital residency programs or if you just apply to any open jobs that identify new grad or RN I? Any input on when I should start applications would be great! Thanks!
  2. Yay just got my acceptance today! Are most of you guys moving near Ashburn and the campus or will you be commuting?
  3. Hi vespera186, Would you mind if I PM'd you with some questions regarding the program?
  4. Congratulations to everyone that got in!! Just wondering..when did everyone apply?
  5. Murrc, Are you located close to Marymount?
  6. Congratulations Pink Eagle best of luck! GW also e-mailed me last friday telling me that my application had been sent to the review committee...so guess it's just a matter of waiting now
  7. Has anyone heard anything?
  8. Hey yowheez, Was just wondering when you submitted your application?
  9. I'm still in the process of completing one of the A&P's. Everything else I have done/submitted. Hope that helps!
  10. Hey guys, I haven't heard anything back either and I had some problems with transcript verification as well. I've called once and they told me it's fine as long as it was verified before the deadline but I'm getting nervous because it seems like a good amount of people have gotten a response. Just wondering to those of you who have when you submitted your applications? Thanks!
  11. hey guys, Just got my letter of acceptance in the mail today. I live in Brooklyn so it may just be a proximity thing. Best of luck to everyone!
  12. I got the Admitted Student Day 2015 e-mail as well, but nothing else. I had my interview March 18th as well and my interviewer told me it could take anywhere from 4-6 weeks, but earlier was possible as well. So not really sure what to expect
  13. Hey melone, Was just wondering if you're in or out of state?
  14. Hey talfan, Yeah..I got a letter in the mail as well saying that they had received certain parts of my transcript, but I called the counselor and she confirmed all of this.
  15. Hey guys, When I called to find about the verification of my NURSINGCAS, GWU said that they had just received it and that an e-mail would be sent out to be in a couple of days. That was two weeks ago though and I still haven't heard anything. Anyone in the same boat? Thanks!
  16. Hey guys, I sent my application in a while ago and confirmed that they received all my info. They just got my TEAS a day or two before the priority deadline...so hopefully will hear back soon! Good luck to everyone
  17. Hi! I''ve recently graduated from a fairly good university, but with a low GPA...exactly 2.86 due to family problems in my 2nd and 3rd years of college. I still need to complete 4-5 prereqs. I got a 4.0 on the first one and am fairly confident I can finish the rest with similar results. I'm applying to ABSN programs for Fall 2015 and while I'm in NYC, I'm looking mostly at schools in the tristate area and in the DC/Arlington area. I've been reading lots of mixed reviews in terms of competitiveness and acceptance rates to ABSN programs. Can anyone give me any advice on what to do to optimize the chances I get into a school? I have a lot of healthcare experience--solid amount of volunteer hours and hospital/medical office work. Thanks so much!
