  1. I haven't yet made an appointment but I'm hoping to get it done and out of the way in mid January. Do you (or anyone else reading this) know if WHC offers a relocation package? Or any wage additions for type of degree or previous clinical experience (i.e. patient tech)? I know that Medstar Georgetown offers a relo bonus so I'm hoping WHC is the same but I haven't been able to find anything for RNs
  2. @bsn_iup, i've also been hired on 2NW!
  3. hey! i applied and am graduating in december from an absn program. i've been working as a CNA for a little over a year at the hospital associated with my program. i applied to the ICUs and med onc unit and am interviewing next friday!
  4. hey yall very excited to join those accepted and accepting the offer of admission!!
  5. i definitely feel very anxious and excited too! i can't believe we're gonna find out in 9 days. i graduate on the 19th but the only thing i'm excited about is getting onto a computer and checking the decision page haha
  6. hey maybe i'll see you in december, i'm graduating from tech too !
  7. Does anyone happen to know how long we have to decide if we are accepted?
  8. Oh awesome to hear! I had my interview today, and I also thought it went really well and my interviewer was very positive. She said before Christmas but wasn't too sure but I'm glad that we only have to wait 4 (short??) weeks!
  9. I just got my interview request email today and i'm beyond excited for it!
  10. awesome congrats yungrudy! let us know how it goes :)
  11. Good luck JRob!! I'm sure it'll go great. I hope the rest of us get our own interview email in the near future! I can't stop obsessively checking my email all the time haha
  12. I'm also applying to gmu/odu if i dont get into the other schools. I've alright things about gmu and odu but all that i really know about them is what i've read on other threads. i know that with gmu theres a bit of a commute involved with going to clinicals. and norfolk is not too ideal of a place for me just due to crime rates and since odu is in norfolk itself, i'm not too keen about going there (assuming i get in haha). i'm really banking on getting into vcu or uva but my gpa isn't the best and i didn't get all a's in my pre-reqs. i'm pretty much relying on my personal statement, work experience, and recommendations
  13. oh oops i didn't see that people already answered the question about the email issue haha. and i'm pretty sure that you're right about only half of all applicants or so are actually "qualified" and i guess all that really means is that they've done all the pre-reqs or are working on them, have the appropriate gpa above their minimum, and turned in everything needed for the application, so not necessarily "highly" qualified but just meet the standards
  14. ph33rbenkthankslol-- my page looks like that too. have you maybe checked your spam folder? and i have no idea what it means by the "application preference: not entered". and thanks yeah I did apply to their CNL program. are you applying anywhere else?
  15. VCU and UVA are equally my top picks, i just hope I get into one of them! I sent my transcripts out on Friday and got the email yesterday. I never checked my status because I figured there'd be no point until this week when they would get them in the mail. Check your email again? I got the email from nuradmission at vcu. Good luck to you too!!!
  16. I just got an email from VCU saying that my application is complete! Now to play the dreadful waiting game. I'm graduating in December from VT and hope to work in a doctor's office post-grad while waiting to hear back.
  17. i know from previous boards that they request interviews well into november so not to worry! i haven't heard anything yet but i hope to get that email in the next month or so!
  18. Hey pbergen,i know that UVA has some assistantships available alongside some scholarships. if accepted, i'm going to apply for the scholarships, assistantships, etc but i will likely be taking out more loans on top of the loans i already have. i would contact someone from the military about your scholarship program! good luck to everyone :)

it doesn't hurt to just try and put your applications out there for bsn programs! are you looking at traditional or accelerated bsn programs? sometimes you just have to apply for more than one cycle. my other suggestion to you is to look at the concurrent program that ODU has where you earn your AAS in nursing and take the NCLEX and take your BSN classes online through ODU, then you transfer all your credits over from community college to ODU and you can earn a BSN that way. i would say there's not point in doing LPN bridging unless you're already an LPN, since you already know you want to be an RN. don't lose hope!
  20. I haven't been able to make it to an information session, so that info about their approach in reviewing applications makes me feel a lot better! Thanks for sharing that :)
  21. 3.1 undergrad also and i'm not sure about my sciences but my prereqs so far are roughly 3.5 but i havent taken sociology yet. my science gpa is lower maybe 3.0-3.2 but i'm not too sure. i'm definitely intimidated by everyone else on here applying with their 3.6+'s and 4.0 prereqs gpas
  22. i just have to take sociology, which i'm signed up for this fall semester. what are your stats like if you don't mind me asking?
  23. that's true! have you finished all the prereqs and everything?
