  1. Thank you firefly. It helps. I am aware that the job market in SD for New Grads is difficult. Getting a job is a priority for sure. anybody out there that can share what they think made them successful at landing their first job??? Thanks again.
  2. I am in my senior year and I contemplated that this could be my situation when I graduate. Definitely hard on your family but like meanmaryjean said, it is all for the experience. Good luck RunBabyRN!
  3. Hi all, I was wondering if anyone that has been successful in getting accepted in a new-grad program here in San Diego could share some advice. I know Scripps get at leas 1,500 applicant for a New grad position... that is a lot of competition:nailbiting:. What do you think made you successful? does it really help if you peak Spanish or having experience as an LVN? I love nursing, I have been an LVN for 5 years and a CNA 5 years prior to that. I have enjoyed my experiences and grow so much because of them, but I am a little nervous about the job outlook in SD. I have a few months until I graduate with my BSN in nursing and I want to be prepared, please share. Also if you could shine some light as to what the New Grad salary is for 2014, that would be awesome!! Hospitals such as UCSD, KAISER, SCRIPPS, SHARP, ETC., or smaller companies too. Please advise. Thank you, J
