Please I need all the help I can get. I SPEND WEEKS STUDYING. Yet I have to make an A on my next exam and on my final or I am dismissed from the program. I did fine in all my previous courses [email protected]

Nicely put. I am surprised at the opinions posted by those who have never attended Chamberlain, yet somehow have insight on the program. I am currently enrolled at Chamberlain and have been successful thus far. The additional resources offered to assist students in succeeding are endless. Fellow nursing friends from other universities have not been as fortunate.

Our professor said we can lay out the paper holding the 1 inch edges without gloves and dump tray upside on top... then place gloves on or... open tray put gloves on (before laying out supplies)... being careful about what is touched that point on.

I passed! Tomorrow is dressing changes! Thanks everyone. It is very scary but afterwards you really get a sense of confidence. When i was finished i was like, "why in the world was i freaking out... i know all this!" Haha Mr. Murse.... maybe sensitive. I just felt like you were being condescending but this is the internet/text so I probably misinterpreted. For dressing change, we can apply our sterile gloves before setting up our sterile field or afterwards. What have yall found works best for yall? I think im going to go with after.

Mr. Murse There's an enormous amount of information in my textbook and notes. Some people use this website to assist one another on certain tasks to help save eachother time seeing as we all know how much work and time is spent in school. This way we can focus on the many other assignments we have. In addition, the vital signs skills check off could be performed in many different ways, so what is the problem getting insight from others who are further along in the program. The last thing i will address with you is how sad i find it that some people use this site as a way to help one another in a positive manner then there are those like yourself who feel entitled to give your unhelpful negative opinions. For what? Isnt it a waste of your time? Do you have nothing better to do? Clearly that isnt the case... thank you for your help anyhow.

Ours is set up oddly. The professor will place all students names in a hat and then she will draw pairs. We will be graded based on our skills performed to our partner. My chances of being paired with a Male with a nice LOUD blood pressure is 1:6. My odds aren't very good, but I will still pray! My biggest issue is all the noises coming from over 20 students while taking blood pressure. I am not sure how it will be on exam day, but I have 3 opportunities. I am assuming it won't be as stressful once I learn the ropes... hopefully.

I have the normal ranges down, but we have to state the abnormal ranges for each skill within the vitals. I keep getting all the information mixed up. What are the correct abnormal ranges for each. We also have to do a pain assessment at the beginning. Would that simply be, "Are you currently experiencing any pain?" or "On a scale of 0-10, are you currently experiencing any pain?" My check off sheet also says, "Verify most recent health care provider's order," at the start of assessment. Any clue?

Its is going great! It is very fast and tons of ready. I started with 5 shifts at work and dropped to 2.5 shifts. I really enjoy it though. Study a solid month in advance.... AT LEAST and read suggestions on here.

Hey! I start this January. I wanted to start a topic for all of us to communicate through! I'm really excited and nervous at the same time. I figured we could provide eachother with helpful information that would be easily accessible for all of us!

It's not hard as long as you prepare for the Hesi entrance exam and have a good gpa. There are more start dates throughout the year which helps to make it easier to get in. There are more spots to accommodate students. After completing all my pre reqs previous to enrolling at Chamberlain I have 2 years with only 2 classes required that pertain to pre reqs they required. I start in January!

Yes! I registered for classes. Put like 500 down. I never got a checklist in my folder. They said they would contact me... I'm just going to go up there tomorrow and see what's going on. I really don't want to get behind. What classes are you taking? By any chance do you have the checklist on your computer or any other emails about it or the orientation? They said they would email be information about orientation as far as times and such but I still haven't received any info.
