What to Expect in an NP Program
I'm graduating with a BSN in July, so I know I have at least 2 years before even applying to grad schools. That being said, I would like to know what I would be facing should I take the Nurse Practitioner route when the time comes, and what I can do to help myself. Google seems so vague, I want to hear about your experiences! :) I'm very excited about graduating, and my final GPA will be no less than a 3.0 even if I slack off (I have obsessive-compulsive personality disorder so I couldn't slack off if I wanted to). I just LOVE studying medicine and nursing and I almost don't want it to end. I love studying in general to be honest! Also, I once read you should have a DNP now too and I would like to know how legitimate that statement is? If it is true, what would getting my DNP involve? Thank you and happy new year!!! :)

How to Find Motivation in Studying?
I'm in the same boat. My motivation comes from stuff like the Johnson & Johnson commercials, stuff that reminds me why I wanna be a nurse. Also Pinterest, which is tricky because it's so tempting to pin everything you see, but it's very helpful for study tips and tricks to remember things to make it easier and more interesting. I have a board filled with stuff that even my professor uses! I DO NOT turn my phone off. I need that window of light or else I will cave in on myself. However, that being said, I have my phone on SILENT, not vibrate, since I have an iPhone though I put it on "do not disturb" so I can't even see it light up and eventually I forget about it and find myself checking it after awhile with all these messages and that's when I take a quick break to chat and step back from the books. Also because I have the Nursing Central app on my phone which is a great reference. So much so that I actually get terrible anxiety if I don't have anything like it. So I never have my phone off or not with me. I tried deleting the apps themselves for finals week. Kinda helps but like everyone said, motivation comes within you and whatever works for you. Try a few different things and see. I always think "I never regret it when I do it, but I always regret it when I don't" (works for both school AND fitness haha!) Even watching YouTube videos of stuff like how a myocardial infarction works and things like that. Meet yourself halfway so it doesn't seem like a chore!

Looking for a good med-surg aid
I saw a YouTube video of a girl giving advice for succeeding in med-surg classes and she had a book called "Med-Surg Made Easy!" or something along those lines. I used a book like that for microbiology and it helped a lot! Does anyone have any suggestions for med-surg books like this that will help me? My first exam was rough and I know it'll only get more difficult but I know I have it in me to do really well! I just wasn't prepared for the workload and all the information. I want as many helpful resources as possible!! I already have an NCLEX-RN book by Billings with practice questions and a pharmacology book by Karch. I just need a "for dummies" book basically haha! Other suggestions on ways I can succeed in this class are encouraged!! I'm ADHD and have frequent panic attacks (all being medicated through a psychiatrist) so I want all the advice I can get!
