  1. Hello everyone! Congratulations to all of you who were accepted! just found out that I was accepted also, but I've decided to accept UVA's offer for their CNL program, which was my first choice. So ... this will help those of you on the waitlist! I am so happy for all of you, and I'm also happy to be able to open a spot for the waitlisted folks! Yay! Best of luck to all of you! My program also starts in May. Cheers to all of us!
  2. Hi soulshine101 - thank you for the information! I'd love to hear your suggestions for balancing family and school. Please feel free to PM me your email address when you have the opportunity, and I will reach out to you. Happy New Year to you!
  3. Thanks blondyesb! I found it and just joined!
  4. Hi Ocwin - thanks for offering to set up a FB group. I'm definitely interested in joining! Hi Keepupwithkaitlyn - I remember reading your posts last year as you were waiting to hear from UVA. So do you like the program? I couldn't tell for sure. Thanks for joining our postings here and offering your suggestions and encouragement! A question for you please: I live in Richmond and will be commuting (ughhh!), and I know from the info session last summer that there are other students who commute from Richmond, and I also learned that it may be possible to do clinicals in Richmond hospitals. Can you recommend the best way to get in touch with one or more of your fellow students who live in Richmond? I'd really like to email or talk with someone, within the next 20-25 days, who is/has done this so I can determine if it's doable for me. UVA is my top choice BY FAR and I am absolutely thrilled to have been accepted, but I want to make sure I know what to expect before I commit. (I have a teenager who won't be driving until next year, two dogs, and other stay-close-to-home sort of commitments). Thanks in advance for any suggestions you can offer! Sorry about the long message, but I don't know how to private email anyone (nor do I know if I can do that yet).
  5. Hi Lexi - welcome and congratulations! We are a happy bunch. Can't wait to learn more about next steps and find out who else has received good news!
  6. Yay! I also got in! I am unbelievably excited! Congrats to everyone! I am looking forward to meeting everyone in the coming months. Have a wonderful holiday, everyone! Sherry (who-apparently-types-an-exclamation-mark-after-every-sentence-!-!)
  7. Hi JRob92 - best of luck with your interview! I hope it goes well.
  8. Welcome to our group of UVA CNL hopefuls, ladypants! You also have a great background for this program. Best of luck to you!
  9. Good morning ocWin! Thanks for your response. Based on that great CMT background of yours and your volunteer work, I think UVA will consider you a great candidate. I will keep the proverbial fingers crossed that you'll receive your interview request very soon. It's funny that you mention your interest and experience with hospice; my strongest interests are in hospice as well as geriatrics/gerontology, but I have no experience in either yet, so I will be seeking out experiences in these areas once I'm in nursing school. I'm volunteering at a local hospital on the medical/surgical unit, interacting with patients and staff, and learning/observing as much as I can about patient care and administration. I hope those lovely people that I'm working with aren't being driven crazy by all my questions! I'm in the Richmond area. Are you already in Charlottesville, or will you be commuting from elsewhere? Have a great day, ocWin!
  10. Hi everyone! I'm so glad to finally encounter this group! I started my own posting earlier tonight because I had trouble finding this one. I applied to the MSN CNL program last month and am thrilled to have just received an interview request for next week. Yay! I have no idea what I'll be asked, but I'm looking forward to the conversation. I too attended an information session over the summer, and I was super impressed with the program. I knew it was the right program for me as soon as I started talking with the current students and walking around the CSLC. And the number of clinical hours required is great (but intimidating!) for us non-nurses. I'm excited to have this potential opportunity as I change careers, from IT to nursing. What are your backgrounds, if you care to share? I look forward to hearing more from everyone!
