If a tablet can be crushed and mixed, can it be administered subcutaneously if the patient can't swallow? Thank you
  2. Regarding my own exam, it was based on the CPNRE guide. The questions were based on critical thinking and logic. Hope yours would be similar.
  3. Thank you for your reply. I did a walk in for a job fair in Peterborough, ON and I was hired on the spot for home care. I completed my paperwork today and will start orientation on Monday. Yes the smaller cities have jobs. I drive for an hour to get there but it's worth it. Once again Thank you.
  4. Thank you very much dt nurse. Very inspiring. That's what I've been doing. I've been applying to everything, I can find but no luck yet. I came across some nurse entrepreneurial jobs and I really don't know how viable they are. I am going to Peterborough tomorrow for a job fair to try my luck again. I will continue to do exactly as you have said, continue to apply but meanwhile I need something to bring money in for me.
  5. I'm a new rpn grad and can't even get an agency job to start with. I've searched all of Ontario, and Canada except for BC. I've even tried travelling nurse jobs but all have been quiet on the front. Please advice. I'm willing to travel or relocate. The job market here is stifling. Thanks.
  6. Please, can you tell me the smaller cities. I'm willing to travel or relocate. I've tried agencies but all they could offer me is a PSW position.
  7. My my number finally came in today. It took 10 business days. Thanks to all on this platform. Very informative and insightful.
  8. You do not have to fill out the section for temporary licence except if you have been offered a job. All you have to do is fill out the section for general class along with your payment and send. I will advice you to make a copy before a filling and use that as a rough copy. After filling, you may also want to make a copy of it so that you are sure of what you filled in cos you will do it again when you pass your registration exam. Your responses must match.
  9. Is there any hope for RPNs in the U.S.
  10. Thanks for this info. I will definitely make use of RPNAO as suggested. It's really hard getting through school, waiting to write the registration exam, waiting for the results, waiting to get the licence and above all getting into a saturated job market.
  11. I mailed my application on March 23 by express post and was delivered the following day. Up till now, I haven't seen any activity on my credit card or my email. A friend who did the same a day earlier has got a receipt for her payment. Does anyone have an idea of the process. Though they say it takes up to 15 business days.
  12. I am awaiting my licence and it is really scary reading about shortages of jobs for rpn. I will appreciate any advice and tips for job searching. I live in Toronto.
  13. Thanks to all on this platform for your support. The mail must have come late last night. I got the letter this morning and I passed.
  14. I guess we are in the same boat. Wrote feb. 2 and yet to get my result. A friend who wrote on feb.9 got hers today. Makes me wonder if something didn't go wrong with their computers on the day I wrote. Really anxious. Live in Toronto ON. It's been 5 weeks now
  15. If the results will be out in 4 weeks, it's been over 4 weeks that I wrote my exam and I'm still waiting. I am yet to know of anyone who wrote in February and has got their results. Good luck to us all.
  16. Hi everyone, Please I need some clarification. One of my profs at school mentioned something about NCLEX. In some states in the U.S, you may not need to write the exam again if you move. Is this possible? Also, do I need to get licensed by the CNO before applying for licence in the states especially, if you are fresh from school. Thanks.
  17. Hi everyone. After being wait listed at George Brown, Centennial and Durham colleges, I finally got an offer from Durham college on Novemeber 17. I'm so excited as I had the feeling that I may be turned away from nursing. Thank you all for the support and advice here there. I hope to continue to post on how the journey goes.
  18. Can you please share your average and the level you took. I'm wait listed @ George Brown for Jan start and my marks are Eng:81%, Math:93%, Bio:86% and Chem:92% all at college level. I really need a spot in the Practical Nursing program. Please share
  19. I just checked my status on George brown's Stu-View and under the summary, I was not given an offer but asked to check periodically. I went through all the links and concluded that I may not get an offer cos, they require an average of 6 courses to get into any program at the college. As a mature applicant, I completed the prerequisite for practical nursing with an average of 88% in all four courses. Just felt like sharing my experience. I now agree that the PN program at George brown is reserved for their Pre-Health students. Good luck to anyone who gets into this program. I am looking somewhere else.
  20. Hi Tasha, If I may ask, did you start your program in January or September. The wait is killing as I want to be sure of a seat at either Durham or George Brown. Your response is highly appreciated.
  21. I am not aware that centennial college runs this program on a part time basis. I only know of the flex option. If so it's worth exploring. Thanks for sharing this.
  22. Congrats. I hope to share my news one day.
  23. Wow, that's pretty early. I am yet to receive any offers . Honestly, I am looking forward to George Brown. From what I've heard, it's easier to get into Centennial but it's hard to succeed. Though, I learnt it's stressful at George Brown, but it's worth it at the end of the day.
  24. I am considering this as an option. I'm a full time mom of a 5 year old. My other kids are grown ups. I prefer to take care of my kids myself than daycare. Is it possible to complete the program in less time than the 3 year 8 months duration. All responses appreciated. Thanks
  25. I am currently waiting for an admission offer from any of the colleges that I applied to. But I am completing ENG 4C. I've completed Chemistry, Math and Biology. I hope to go to George Brown College cos of all the positives I've heard about it. I also applied to Centennial and Durham. Does anyone have any advice
