North Hennepin Nursing Spring 2015
I have heard very good things, they have an excellent nclex passing rate over the last several years and the new bioscience and health careers building looks very nice. Nursing school is always challenging but with hard work, smart studying and effective time management it can be done. I'm hoping my lpn knowledge from( from class and on the job) will help me, I know my CNA/TMA helped a ton in my lpn programs.

Teas score for NHCC program??
I'm a little late to this feed but wanted to add my two cents anyway : I took the TEAS V in May of this year and I scored a 79.3% adjusted total scores, placed into the advanced academic prep level(placing int 87th percentile nationally and the 88th percentile for program). My score brake down was as follows; Reading- 92.9%, Math-80.0%, Science-77.1%, and English/language usage-66.7%. My GPA in the required classes was a 3.1 bringing my total score to an 11.0. I applied to NHCC mobility program and June and was excepted into their evening and weekend program for Spring of 2015!

In need of tips for the TEAS exam
The first time I took the TEAS V I scored a 69.4(placed as proficient) and the second time I took it I scored a 79.3( placed as advanced) I submitted this score and was just excepted into and LPN to RN mobility program for spring semester! I improved my score by going through the ATI book with a fine tooth comb. I spent an hour or so most days studying for about a month, I focused on the areas I was told to review, used the tutoring center on campus, researched topics I was having trouble grasping online, and took the practice TEAS that ATI has online, they are a bit spendy, but give rational for why answers are right or wrong and was an invaluable resource. I also payed special attention to the science and math portions which where the most heavily weighted by the program I was applying to. I attempted to get as close to 8 hours sleep the night before my exam, had a health breakfast and avoided caffeine ( ok decreased my intake that day. I also did minimal studying the night before and morning of, just a general review of math and general english. I hope this post is helpful, best of luck to you.

How long did you wait to go back to school?
I received my LPN in 2009(during my program and pre reqs/gen eds I worked anywhere form a 0.4-0.6 as a CNA/TMA and picked up various shifts depending on course load.) I had originally planed to go back immediately for my RN yet due to family health issues I ended up taking sometime off.) This spring I finally felt ready to return to school, I was lucky enough to find a program that my credits transferred to, I took the TEAS V in May, applied to the mobility program in June and found out this month that I was excepted to the evening and weekend program starting in January of 2015. The program is three semesters long, my credit load will be lighter in the first semester (then summer break) so I plan to try and work a 0.9 or 0.8 until the second semester at which time I plan to drop to a 0.6(the lowest I can be and keep eligibility for tuition reimbursement). I have no children yet have a long term boyfriend that I live with who is supportive.

North Hennepin Nursing Spring 2015
I was recently excepted to NHCC evening and weekend program for the spring semester of 2015. I will be a mobility student and am wondering if anyone else on all nurses.com will be in the program with me(mobility or straight RN) it would be interesting to know who my fellow classmates will be.
