  1. Hey guys, I applied to the ABSN and BSN programs as well. Everyone else's stats are amazing!!! I only have a 3.37 cumulative GPA, 3.75 pre-req GPA, and an 80.7 on the TEAS... I'm not really expecting to get in to UCF but I would obviously be ecstatic if I somehow did manage to get in. I figured I would just give it a shot in case the applicant pool isn't as strong this year. I really hope we hear back from them closer to the 6 week mark, the waiting game is so painful already haha.
  2. Congratulations everyone!! I got an interview too! I'm at 11:30 :) I feel like 90 minutes is a super long interview but I'm glad they're allotting so much time for us so we won't feel rushed.
  3. Thank you, SNA for checking up on us nervous hopefuls! vglass, welcome to the thread! I know what you mean, this is so incredibly nerve racking! I am more nervous now than I was before I submitted my application haha. I applied to UCF and USF as well but UNF is definitely my first choice. You just don't see the same reactions from current students elsewhere when you ask them about their program. Did you apply anywhere else? The TEAS was interesting... I scored an 80.7 and did not have time to retake the test so I'm just crossing my fingers that it is good enough! Personally, I felt that the science section was actually harder on the test than on the practice tests but that the English and reading comprehension were easier. Math seemed to be the same degree of difficulty to me. The science section was SO random, I really don't think I would have done better on it a second time around. What did everyone else think? Also, the deadline is TOMORROW!!!! I am pretty sure last year they found out a little over 2 weeks after the deadline about the interviews so hopefully we can be that lucky :)
  4. I thought I would feel relieved after turning in the application but I think I am actually more nervous now than I was! I feel like I can't focus on anything else, haha. Sherri, a week after the deadline would be fantastic! I am so ready to find out the results, as I'm sure everyone is :)
  5. No problem at all, the holidays are always a bit crazy. Yes the entire application process does seem incredibly thorough. Hopefully it will all be worth it though :)
  6. I am so glad someone started a thread for this, haha. I am also applying to the accelerated program but honestly I'm not really expecting to get in. I am within the average statistics they posted on the website for everything except for being .03 GPA points below the science GPA low range... Super frustrating but I figured applying would be worth a shot at least since each applicant pool varies so much. I'm also applying to UNF and USF (both accelerated) and if I don't get into those I'll apply to the SSC/UCF concurrent program. I am just ready to get started already! :) Valladrama, I am imagining that background check to be pretty complicated, too haha but i'm sure it will end up being much simpler than what we are fearing. And i wish i could help you with the GPA situation but I don't know either! I keep waiting for UCF to do a degree audit so I can see what my UCF GPA will be... Until then I'm just kind of estimating it
  7. I have not taken the TEAS as of yet; I was planning to take it as soon as this fall semester ended but I ended up getting really sick so I have not taken it yet. I'm going to have to take it in January so that I have some time to review the ATI book since I haven't been able to do much of anything for the past couple of weeks. I'm going to take it in Orlando and I know they'll email the scores to whomever you choose (for a hefty fee) but I just am not sure how long that process takes which is why I am nervous about it. Waiting till the last minute on it this has been incredibly nerve racking but it is what it is, not much I can do about it now but study and hope that my score will be good enough!
  8. wow, I was totally unaware of that. Thanks for letting us know! How many people do they accept for the summer? I am having a hard time finding that information on their website... And nrdortch, thanks for the advice! That is definitely helpful. How do you like USF?
  9. Hey everyone! Just thought I would finally join in on the conversation... I applied a month ago but still have not heard the official word back from the University which doesn't seem to be uncommon based upon the past forums so I'm not freaking out just yet, haha. Zaraled, where did you hear that the CARE program is taking up most of the spots for the summer? If that is true, that really stinks :/ At least they have a fall option too!
  10. Really glad to see there are a few more of us out there! I keep reading through the past forums and this seems like a really useful communication tool. Does anyone know how to send in our TEAS scores? I know it says by fax or email to the SON but does ATI do that or do we? I'm just trying to gage how long it will take for the scores to get there, like if there is any processing time or anything like that.
  11. That is awesome!! NYU must have been a great experience. Almost finished with summer pre-requisites... tomorrow is actually the last day for me, woo hoo! And I haven't opened my TEAS book yet, dreading that lol let me know how you do! I am really nervous about it... And I know, only 27 people is SO nerve racking! I am especially nervous about it because UNF is the only school I know I am going to apply to for sure. I am undecided about UCF because they consider the overall GPA and when I went to an informational meeting they were saying people have 4.0 in pre-reqs and average like a 3.7 overall GPA, which I definitely don't have. I don't know if it was just to scare us or what?
  12. Nice! Where else are you looking? And I'm assuming you are a social worker, that is what I got my undergraduate degree in! Looks like we're in good company :) And where did you go for undergrad/grad? Just curious if you went to FSU for either degree. I am so ready for the pre-reqs to be over and to just start nursing school! I have not taken the TEAS just yet, I am hoping to take it late September/early October depending upon how ready I feel... I really want to only take it once. And the interview I am already so nervous about! I have been reading everyone's posts from years passed and it definitely seems to make or break your acceptance. I'm just trying to focus on getting to that phase of the application process lol.
  13. Anyone else applying to UNF accelerated/traditional BSN for summer 2015? I'd love to talk to anyone about the application, TEAS, stats, interview, etc. I'm already getting pretty antsy about the whole application process!
