The new 16 hour course
I start January 1st, 2017; Wow! This new course really took me by surprise! My admissions/enrollment guy told me it "replaces" another course, but could not say which one(!) As far as I can tell, it's an additional requirement. Anyway, no choice but to get through it! I also read here (can't find post now) that there's a new Biochem course which folks are struggling with (???) Any insights here? I'm determined to get through the RN to BSN in one term, ie 6 months come Hell or High Water! I have Human Growth & Development, Biochem, plus all the Nursing requirements. Good luck to all & THANK YOU!

WGU Sept 2014..Anyone??
Thanks featherzRN! Congratulations on your accomplishment! How was Bio-Chem? I'm terrified at the very thought of it! Are there proctored exams? Did you work? If so part-time or full-time? I'm a native New Yorker too (originally Northern Westchester County, then Plattsburgh). As I have Zero interest in getting a Calif PHN cert, I wonder if I can use family addresses in NY or Florida, so I don't have to a PH practicum. I precepted students from a local BSN progran when I was a Visiting Nurse! Again, Many thanks! PS Are you in a MSN program?

WGU Sept 2014..Anyone??
I was supposed to start Univ Of Arizona's RN to MSN program this month, but am having 2nd thoughts due to cost ($35k plus!); I'm now re-thinking my plan & just rec'd my transcript eval; not as horrible as I anticipated, BUT, having to take Growth & Development, Bio-Chem & Micro w/Lab makes me cringe, esp since I've been an RN for 25 years! WGU is un-moved by the fact I had Micro w/no Lab, therefore, I have to take the whole darn thing over, again! Seriously ??? !!! OK, now that I'm done whining & can bring 82 credits in, realistically, how long will it take to complete the WGU RN to BSN (I'm in Calif) from start to finish, inclusive of the 3 courses I mentioned above? I plan to take a break from work and devote FULL-Time to study. Your thoughts? Thank you & Best of Luck to all!

university of arizona rn to msn
Hi, Yes no doubt about it, U of A is expensive, but they don't make you jump through numerous pre-req hoops, ie more English, Science, Math, etc. I start in Sept, and if all goes according to plan, I'll have a MSN in Aug of 2016. Cost wise, my employer will pay about 1/3 of the cost & I'm fortunate I have some savings I can tap into. I do believe the College of Nursing Dean & her colleagues assembled a very student-centric program, which will enable grads to deal with challenges in health care in the decades to come. I once read in these pages: "I can choose to be age 60 with an MSN or 60 without an MSN" Like the author, I choose to be 60 with an MSN! By the way, are there any current students of the program, or graduates? I'd love to know about your experience. Thank you & Best wishes!
