  1. patients with catheters are using an assistive device but are continent, therefore 6; this is the way we teach it.
  2. Are you still doing FIMS?? I just became our PPS coordinator, and I, too have difficulty teaching some of the concepts, especially when percentages are involved. Any more hints?
  3. Wanted to know if anybody had done the WCEI course and what they thought of it - current opinions posted are years old - Mary, R.N., C.R.R.N.
  4. College network sells the study guides in preparation for the excelsior college tests. My advice to any nurse planning to go this route is to take all of the prereqs they can with their local community college, and only take the nursing concepts exams with excelsior - it's much more economical that way. I used the study guides for the nursing concepts exams and they were very helpful. I bought them from a friend who was finishing the program, awaiting her CPNE.
  5. Why don't you get licensed in Tennessee before you move to California? Or, if you move to California before you can get your license, why don't you just test in Arizona, or Utah, or another of California's neighboring states that will accept Excelsior?
  6. Are you referring to Excelsior College exams? I am also an LPN and was enrolled with Excelsior and have taken two of their exams. I recently transferred to a local college to finish my RN; if you need Excelsior study materials, I have some to sell; I have the study guides from the College Network, current editions, for Nursing Concepts exams.
