  1. Has anyone else on here who accepted a position received any other information about registration or financials? I feel like I paid the deposit several months ago and then there was no follow up or anything to confirm my place...?
  2. Anyone accepted who is from Minneapolis? Or at least knows the town at all? Looking for suggestions on where to live!
  3. Anybody hear anything about admissions yet? I was told "probably before Thanksgiving...". Which is not super specific. ?
  4. Hey I was wondering if anyone had a second to talk about their experience at WCU? If you feel like you're getting enough clinical experience with lines and cases? How is the trauma experience? Any information is appreciated!! It looks like last year you guys were notified really quickly of acceptance. Any inside knowledge if that will happen again?
  5. the hr guy said that it wasn't required... and the vet pro lady said they were waiting on verification from my college, but that it didn't have to do with official transcripts. i just wish i knew what it was they needed or who they were trying to email so i could harass that person. and tell them to hurry up. :]]] meanwhile i also learned that the hr lady that had been working on my packet, had to take sick leave or something for the week. so the hr guy isn't able to verify if my physical and fingerprints are processed. also the director that approves my salary after i'm boarded will be gone for the next two weeks.. ugh!!
  6. i've tried to read through and find the answer... but i didn't see anything conclusive. does anyone know if i am supposed to send my official transcripts to the va i have a tentative offer from?!?! or does the va itself take care of this? they have my unofficial. and i don't think anyone has asked for me to do this. but some people here on this post have said they have taken their transcripts to the va themselves. i'm out of state so this isn't possible. but the vet pro lady takes a few days to respond. and if it needs to be done i want to do it today rather than next week.
  7. yes. i am paying attention to the close dates. a few have closed recently and i was sent an email saying my app was sent to the reviewing officer... the waiting around is terrible.
  8. I am trying to get an RN position at the VA and I understand it takes time. But I'm wondering if anyone has had any luck with directly calling an HR person and asking for a job. I had a few current nurses from my nearby VA say that it doesn't help anything and not to try. But I'm wondering if any VA nurses from another state have had any luck with this tactic....
  9. thanks!! i'll definitely look at that state. and chohiba, yeah that's what i hear. but i feel bad applying for jobs at other hospitals when i have no intention of staying there.. but you may be right.
  10. Hello people. It's basically my goal in life to work at a VA or on a military base as an RN! I just recently graduated and I took the NCLEX (just waiting on the results, but I got the "good" popup..). I am trying to find a position at the VA. I have applied to several new grad positions. And RN positions (though I keep getting rejected as I don't have a license yet, which I anticipate will continue to happen until I can check that box, but the BRN is taking forever). I have no problem with moving across the country (currently in CA). All the VA nurses I have talked to, just say to be patient and keep applying. Which would be fine if I wasn't dangerously close to being flat broke. Does anyone have any pointers on speeding up the process? Or getting an interview? I have tried contacting HR people directly, but has not gotten me far... I'm just feeling a little discouraged from the rejection letters, and hearing that getting hired with the VA takes a long time.
