  1. Hi! I currently work as a pediatric clinical research nurse. I have always wanted to do research, and I want to continue to grow to the point where I can become a primary investigator. The studies I am currently on are neuro studies. I eventually would like to transfer and do oncology studies and gain the experience there. First question: Is there a nurse practitioner program that has subspecialties like neuro-oncology? Second Question: Do I have to be an NP to become a principal investigator, or can I just obtain an MSN in research? TIA!
  2. I've been looking into BSN programs for a while. WGU and I just didn't work out. I want to go back to school for my BSN, as I started in a new unit a year ago and I absolutely love my unit. As stressful as it can be at times, I wouldn't change it. I would like to grow within this unit and be able to move up into different opportunities they offer. To do so I need my BSN. I have been thinking about UTA for a while and looked into other programs. I spoke with someone from UTA and they asked if I was interested in the RN - MSN program. I would receive my BSN while in the program but would continue into the MSN program. Has anyone done this or have heard of this? What has been your experience? Anyone graduate from UTA that can gie me some input?
  3. I was just about to register with Pearson. Now that I know this I can start my process. Thank you! =)
  4. I just graduated from nursing school in NY, and wanted to know if it is easier if I just take my NCLEX exam in FL rather than taking it here in NY and then transferring it? I am originally from Orlando, FL. Moved up to NY 3 years ago to be with my fiance and start nursing school. Now we want to move back down, but I am not so sure of the process of transferring the license (if I pass the NCLEX) or what I need to get done to be able to take the exam in FL since we are moving down in May. I plan to take the exam end of March (beginning of April) Thank you, everyone!
  5. I just got accepted into the Nursing program at the school I attend. Rumors had been going around saying that they had lost their accreditation. I asked a professor at school about it and she had told me I should be fine, they had just gotten back their accreditation last week. I had called the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) and I asked if there was any way I could find out if my school had gotten the approval to become re-accredited. They told me they had not approved anyone and not re-accredited any schools in the past week. So,I found out it was the State accreditation that my professor was talking about. My problem is I am moving back home when I graduate. I won't be working as a nurse here in NY. Does this mean I must transfer to another school? How does this affect me getting a job or furthering my education later on? Do hospitals actually look for students coming from an accredited school? If I can take the NCLEX after graduating in NY, will I be able to transfer my license immediately after to FL?
