Meeting AHPRA requirements as a International Trained Nurse from the Philippines
Hi thank you so much for those who replied ... but my school like UP is also operating autonomously... not only UP has been given autonomy by ched...there are few other state universities and even private universities who were granted with this kind of privilege because of the school's performance. Like for example when I was processing my papers for Saudi Arabia before, I didn't have to go to CHED for the CAV process. My university provided it to me and I immediately went to DFA for Red Ribbon...as simple as that... But the IQNM's requirements for criterion 2 and 3 is a little more complicated than CAV... as I understand it, it needed an independent nationally recognized accreditation authority like AACCUP , PAASCU or other accrediting agency to certify an institution's or a program of study's external accreditation and not from the Commission of Higher Education. Now, my problem is my school's accreditation from aacup has already expired from the time I undertook the nursing program and until now they were still not able to undergo for re - accreditation. Since I believe in the Philippines it is not a must for every university to be externally accredited for them to operate because for as long as they perform well, they will still be recognized (correct or enlighten me if I'm wrong). And being a university with autonomy they do not need to secure any permit to open a program. That's why maybe they did not felt the need to comply with re accreditation. However, we, the graduates, who are seeking for registration in Australia are the affected one. and worst I am the first one to ask for this kind of requirement. So now, if anyone can give an advice on what I should do? Will a certification from ched that certifies my school's autonomy will help? Will an official letter from my dean would help as well? And if ever i wont be able to comply with criterion 2 and 3 ( i know they will refuse me for registration) what are my other options? will i still have a chance for BP? or should I just contact AHPRA regarding this matter? Thank you!

Hi, can anyone enlighten me about what to do so i can comply with criterion 2, 3 and 8? my application is currently in the second stage and the nmba is asking me to submit documentary evidence for criterion 2, 3 and 8... I understand that i would need to go back to my educational institution for these requirements but just i dont know who externally regulates our school coz i came from a state university and i was informed before that state universities operates independently... and with regards to criterion 8, will a letter or a certification that i have successfully completed an assessment for medication management and pharmacology be enough or do i also have to provide a course outline for this as well? thank you... i hope someone will extend some help...:) *anyway i wasn't aware of this IQNM until the national board emailed me last Thursday... I applied in Victoria and my CO there didn't ask for it. that's why i thought the requirements are still the same like last year.

Yes I did... just here in our place... its better to have a review center than reviewing all by yourself coz its like going to school again... u will interact with other people and at the same time u will have someone to check your work...most importantly u will be more disciplined when it comes to managing ur time...as we all know time is the greatest enemy during the exam especially on the writing part... Anyway, im from mindanao state university. .. how about you?
