  1. I'm not sure if this is a stupid question or if anyone will notice that I commented on here, but I'll give it a shot. I'll be graduating my nursing program in May and will be looking for my first nursing position at BayCare (I already work for BayCare but in a non-clinical area). I've seen everyone talking about residency programs and graduate nurse programs and I see that BayCare lists that as an option on their webpage but can't find any information on it! How do I apply for a residency program? Will it show up as a normal job on their Baycare Taleo job page? Or is there a separate place to look for specifically graduate nurse programs? Please help! I'm so nervous!
  2. Spring break is the 2nd week in March
  3. We didn't have a math test the first week. Our math exam was about the 6th week into the semester. You must get an 80% on it to stay in the program-you get 2-3 tries I believe. But trust me, you want to pass on the first try because there is so much going on that you don't want to have to go back and take it again while trying to study the current stuff to keep up. They don't really go in order of units. Monday-Wednesday are lab days and Thursday is theory. The first week in lab we did hand washing and mobility. And then going over syllabus etc. our first skill check off (hand washing) was on the wednesday of the first week. That day was also when they introduced our first major project of the semester for lab. Our first theory class of the semester on the Thursday was just going over the student handbook and syllabus in great boring detail. And they introduced the first theory paper, the Well Elder Project. sorry if that's too much detail, I had the calendar in front of me so I just went through each day. Also I suppose it will depend on who your teacher is as to how the semester goes. We found out that each teacher was really different. I had Neuzil. anyway, happy to answer questions for whoever has them. I wish I had someone to give me details and lessen my anxiety before the semester started!
  4. I just finished semester 1 so if ya'll have questions I'm happy to answer them! So far as the BayCare training, you can't start that until you fill out paperwork like 2 weeks before you start clinicals. Then they'll get you into the BayCare system so you can start. Congrats to everyone who got in!
  5. Does anyone know the website that we need to go to in order to print the Critical Thinking test results? I know we go to "atitesting.com" for the ATI results but it was a different website for the first, shorter test and I forgot to write that website down :/
  6. I think that for the first few weeks it won't be the whole time since we'll be in class but then once we start clinicals I'm pretty sure it's the whole time block.
  7. How's everyone feeling post-orientation? Did everyone get their choices for classes? I got my first choice!! I know we can't say teacher names but I got Morton Plant Hospital for daytime so that should tell ya'll who I have. Any one else in my class? :)
  8. I got in to the fall semester for this year with all my prerequisites completed. I only had a 3.8 gpa so I guess having all the classes done is important since shadokat has a much better gpa than me and got alternate.
  9. Per the admission guide, the estimated tuition is roughly $4550. http://www.spcollege.edu/WorkArea/DownloadAsset.aspx?id=12759
  10. Omg that must be killer to be #1!! It's horrible that you still have to wait but on the plus side it's like 98% sure you'll get in from what I've heard about the alternate list!
  11. From what I've read on other forums for past semesters, roughly 20 alternates seem to get in so good luck to ya'll. Sorry to hear those who didn't get in
  12. Just got my email....and holy crap, I GOT IN!!!!!
  13. Yeah I'll be taking evening classes! I've heard pros and cons for both but since I'll be working full-time, evening class times are the only ones that work for me. Evening classes graduate sooner since they go through the summer semester but they are also supposedly a little harder because the summer semester is condensed. I wish I could take AM classes but I just don't have a choice with working 40 hours a week-no time to fit it all in!!
  14. Shadokat - she said she got it at 12:30pm on Thursday (so the 26th). I feel ya- I can barely sleep lately because I'm so nervous!
  15. Hey everybody- First time poster here but I've been anxiously creeping all the forums to do with SPC Nursing. I, too, applied for the Fall 2014 semester and am waiting impatiently for an email. My friend already received a rejection email for the semester so in not sure if that's a good sign or a bad sign for me who still has not received an email either way. Ughhh I just want to know already!!
