  1. "Everytime you get upset at something, ask yourself if you were to die tomorrow, was it worth wasting your time being angry?" Robert Tew
  2. "Even when you loose, don't loose the lesson"
  3. "My health my fail, my spirit may grow weak, but God remains the strength of my heart; he is mine forever" Psalm 73:26 NLT
  4. "Whether you think you can or you can't--your right"
  5. "Forever is composed of nows"-Emily Dickinson
  6. She's thinking "I'm going to have to stand here and re-explain everything he just said to them."
  7. In the ED, caring for a patient in the psych rooms. She believed her boyfriend put microphones disguised as strands of hair on her and was obsessively staring at her hair, pulling out strands at times. I tried to appeal to her reasonable side and said something to the effect of, "don't you see how crazy that sounds, we don't have the technology to do that even." To which she replied, "That's why its a genius plan, no one would believe it." Touche.
  8. My totally alert and oriented patient remarking that we must also double as a veterinary hospital because last night he heard a cat meowing all night long and now this morning he heard a goat. Of course, he was referring to the demented little old lady in the room next to his.
  9. Patient: I have a history of TB. Take a look at all this phlegm.
  10. my patients boyfriend overdosed in the bathroom. Because this has happened twice on our unit in the past year.
  11. I got into Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program with an overall 3.0 GPA. That was the minimum listed in the program requirements. Most other schools in my area require a GPA of 3.0 or 3.2 to apply. However, I do know that they look and put more priority on your Bachelor GPA and grades in health, math, and science. My friend got into the same program with me with a GPA just under 3.0. Also one school in my area allowed you to take some sort of test to kind of counterbalance if you had a GPA less than the 3.2 requirement. I feel like it really depends what exactly your going for your masters in. Nurse anesthetist is more competitive while family nurse practitioner is not.
  12. I know that OU offers a Junior composition exemption exam to test out of having to take a junior composition course for your program. Has anyone taken this exam? Anyone tried it and has passed or failed? I am just trying to get some insight. I am a strong writer and do very well when it comes to papers. Was wondering if I took it what to expect. Difficulty, the experience, topics, likelihood of success?
