  3. Okay great thanks for your input, what kind of patients do you typically see in the SICU there since there is so many different specialty units at the cleveland clinic? Also do you have any tips for my interview? Any material to brush up on prior to my interview? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

  6. Hi, I have 2 interviews at cleveland clinic in a couple of weeks. One is in the sicu and one is in the cvicu and I am shadowing after both. I am a new grad and wonder if anyone has any tips and what to expect for these interviews? Also if you work on any of these units how do you like it? Thanks, Nick
  7. Great thanks for the reply, I do have my ACLS and I did apply for my FL license. I am okay with paying for moving. Im thinking that I still have a good chance at possibly being called for the ICU positions since they still say under initial review
  8. Thanks and I applied about 2 weeks ago then HR contacted me about a week ago and put me in for 2 ICU positions and 1 ED position. I was just called on friday for a phone interview about the ED position. On the website the ED position status says completed while the 2 ICU positions say under initial review. From what Ive heard as long as it says under initial review you are still in the game. And again any tips from someone who possibly had a phone interview with FH would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
  9. I have an phone interview next week for an ED position at altamonte springs. I was really hoping for an ICU interview but I'll take whatever I can get for now. Does anyone have any tips for their phone interviews? I really have no clue what to expect. Thanks!

  11. tsipareht and newgradma do you have any tips on getting into the new grad critical care internship at FH? I graduate in May with my BSN and I am really interested in an internship at either FH or Orlando Health. I precept in a CMICU now and was thinking about getting my ACLS prior to graduation to make my resume stand out more. I am not from the area and I feel like I am at an extreme disadvantage...
  12. I am posting this because I have started working on my resume and cover letter and need some help. I will be graduating in May with my BSN and I am interested in relocating to Florida from Ohio. I am interested in critical care as I am precepting in a CMICU currently. Some of my concerns were if I should list the clinicals I have completed in the resume? Also I am a little stumped about starting the whole resume out because I have not yet graduated or passed boards obviously. I have a good GPA and was wondering if this should be included in the resume? Any tips on an objective section? If anyone has any pointers or examples of resumes for a soon to be graduate nurse this would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
  13. ok great thanks good luck with everything and maybe I will see you down there next year
  14. ok great do you recommend anything for me to do prior to applying next year?
  15. I am going into my senior year of a BSN program. I have very good grades and currently work as a nurse aid on a step down unit in ohio. I would like to get into an intensive care unit when I graduate school somewhere in Florida. I would be open for any sort of residency programs. I know going into and ICU as a new grad will be challenging but I know I could handle it. I was wondering if anyone had any tips of what I should do to help my chances when the time comes to apply for these residency programs? Also is anyone aware of any hospitals in Florida that hire new grads into critical care? I feel as if I am at a disadvantage because I am not from the area. Please any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I was wondering if anyone had any tips of what I should do to help my chances when the time comes to apply? I feel as if I am at a disadvantage because I am not from the area.
