I graduated a few months ago and have been applying to urgent cares in the area. Some of the clinics have been interviewing to see if I am proficient in most of the skills and telling me that I would be the sole provider of the clinic and training typically lasts 2 weeks. My question to other NPs is how did you all get enough experience to land urgent care positions as relatively new nurse practitioners?

I received a call today saying I'm off the waitlist and accepted for spring. Excited :)

Good job! That's pretty scary how they almost missed that. I was placed on the waitlist today with conditional summer acceptance.

Did your app get sent in late or anything? Mine was a little late due to nursing cas and confirming my transcripts. When did you have your interview?

Idk how I feel, to be excited I'm in the last 20 or disappointed

@anne2112 are you saying they pretty much told you we're getting wait listed no matter what?

They told me there is a few spots left and they're going to look at our applications and decide if we're in or wait listed. She made it seem as if we were reviewed already but they had a hard time deciding

So I'm confused at the moment. If I accept my offer, yet a school I prefer to attend more accepts me on like the 11th, can I just accept the other school's offer still? I'm not blind to 1 school if I accept it right?

So is Labor Day weekend pretty much when everyone should hear if they were accepted or not?

Any ideas when UTHSCSA should be sending out acceptance letters?

Is there any tips any of you could possibly offer me on my path to joining any of these schools? I have a pretty decent overall and science GPA, but I just want to know what might be some other things these schools might want? Also can anyone explain how was schooling for you if you went to any of these schools? I'm sure it's just one persons opinion, but I've heard TCU actually worked on making nursing schools more "enjoyable" then the others? I don't know how true that is but just wondering! My bad for all the questions! Thanks
