Congrats on the interview! I am also a new grad ADN from IL, just moved to FL in May and started at LRMC on Sept 15th. So far I really like the orientation process. You orient with different departments to get a feel for how they operate and to understand the bigger picture of services offered at LRMC. Usually the second interview is a good sign, so I hope it all went well for you! They have a union rep come talk to you during your first day of orientation. Good luck to you!!

Just wanted to update everyone to let you know there is hope, I was hired at a LTC facility and am in the process of interviewing for a residency program. Its frustrating, but I guess with patience and perseverance its possible to get an RN position straight out of school with an ADN.

Yeah, I have been accepted into an online BSN program and have been putting that on my applications, hasn't helped so far but I'm hoping it shows initiative, thank you for the advice though, its definitely a good idea!

I've been rejected for all the ones I applied for, probably because they require a BSN I've been stressing too, its so frustrating. What's worse is that everyone I talk to about how difficult it is to get a job as a new RN says "But you're a nurse!! You should have jobs coming at you left and right!!!" ugghhhh

Thank you all for the advice. I applied to a couple nursing homes that I found on Indeed. Is there a website besides those like Indeed, Monster, Simply Hired, etc that has a lot of nursing home/clinic jobs posted? I haven't heard from St. Joseph's yet either way, keeping my fingers crossed that I'm still in the running! Best of luck to you as well Cruzan!!

Hello, I am a newly licensed RN who just moved to the Tampa area. My husband's job was transferred from Illinois to the Tampa area, and my family lives here. I do have my RN license for Florida. I am having a really hard time finding a job. I have a Bachelor's Degree in criminal justice, an Associate's in Nursing, and 2 years CNA experience at a Top-100 Magnet Hospital. I have applied to several residency programs (Florida Hospital-Tampa, Florida Hospital- Orlando, Bayfront in St. Pete, St. Joe's) and hundreds of open RN positions. I have heard Lakeland hires new grads, but I haven't heard anything from them after submitting an application. I am becoming increasingly frustrated with the job search. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions of places that might hire a newly licensed RN?? Thank you.
