UBCO or Okanagan College- Fall 2017
Hey all and congrats to getting accepted at OC! I currently just finished my first year at UBCO (applied right out of highschool). If you have any questions, feel free to ask or message me!

UBCO 2016
Hey! I don't know the exact average unfortunately, but the UBC admissions website says mid to high 80's (which accurate, although not specific). I got admitted this fall 2016 with about the same average as yours, so as long as you have a good personal profile, you'll probably get in! Good luck, and let me know if you have any questions

UBCO 2016
Hi! I'm still on the waitlist, waiting for a decision that should come around before June 15. Are you a high school student? If you don't mind me asking, what was your admission average?
-
UBCO 2016
Hey there! I am a grade 12 student from BC that applied to the nursing program at UBC Okanagan. I've recently been waitlisted with a 84.25% average and a pretty well done personal profile. My updated marks in May will be higher though. Any other applicants out there? Feel free to share your marks/any insightful news :)

um yeah so I just got off the phone with them. They told me the admission average at the moment is at an 85%, and with my current average, they can't offer me yet. They said I'll have to wait until new marks come in from the second semester. I asked if I could still get in with around the same mark even after the second semester, and they said that depends on the scale; so like the averages of the pool of applicants, if they are lower, then they can move the average lower, etc. I feel so ughh at myself right now because I was so close to hitting the mark, and now I have to wait until much later to see if I get in. I don't even know if I will, because I quite frankly suck at pre calculus and I'm decent with chemistry.

yeah get to it quickly! Yeah I've been told that, but I've also been told you can still apply and there's a lottery system to determine who gets a room there. I'm guessing if you'd apply to live in the nursing cohort, you'd get a solid spot there. by the way, were you given an unconditional offer? I'm currently waiting on hold for an advisor. I'm going to check to see if I can still get an offer with my current average.

Okay, I feel a little better about it now lol. Yeah they did reject me first, they said they couldn't offer me admission because of my current average and that they will re evaluate me when they get more marks. Hopefully inshallah it will work out. Btw have you applied to residence? I did a while back, and recently I got an email about their new nursing cohort! I applied for their single room w/ private bathroom, and the cohort happens to be in the same area (Schaffer hall?) as those rooms.

Currently, 84.25 %. I have yet to complete pre calculus 12, chem 12, and the humanities option (social justice). Hoping that at least the math and sj will bring me up, but I'll have to wait until the end of the school year... It's almost at the 85%, but I wonder if I could still get it with this average..

Any update? I got this message in my Bear Tracks "[TABLE=class: PSPAGECONTAINER, width: 635] [TR] [TD=colspan: 5][TABLE=class: PSLEVEL2SCROLLAREABODYWBONBO, width: 611] [TR] [TD=width: 611][TABLE=class: PSLEVEL2SCROLLAREABODYWBO, width: 611] [TR] [TD=colspan: 4][TABLE=class: PABACKGROUNDINVISIBLEWBO, width: 607] [TR] [TD=width: 605][TABLE=class: PABACKGROUNDINVISIBLE, width: 605] [TR] [TD]Your application has been reviewed and at this time we are unable to consider you for admission based on your current average. For more information on the competitive admission average from last year and the projected range for this upcoming year, please visit Admission Averages - Undergraduate Admissions - University of Alberta Upon receipt of the required documentation, your application will be re-evaluated. " Darn you pre-calc 11 mark! If it weren't for that grade, I would've been a solid 86% in grade 11 courses. Looks like I'll have to wait and see if I can get acceptance with a couple grade 12 courses I've just completed. Oh yeah they don't accept internationals here, right. I'm Palestinian too!! That's so cool! Yallah hopefully we both get in :)
-
U of Alberta collab 2016
Oh neat! Yes I'm from BC. I applied to Douglas (priority registration for potential nursing applicants), Vancouver Island uni, and currently finishing my UBC Okanagan application. I highly doubt I'll get into VIU though because their admission average may not work out with me... I'll take any program I get into, fingers crossed! Btw, do you mind telling me where you're from?
-
U of Alberta collab 2016
cool! Are you from BC, Alberta..? Did you apply recently? I got my application in on Dec 31. Kinda late for my standards but I wasn't sure if I wanted to apply yet

Grant MacEwan 2016
Even though MacEwan has a lower admission average, I really don't think I can apply and get in by now. Really considering u of A at the moment. Do you happen to be a student there?
-
Grant MacEwan 2016
And yes, I do!
-
Grant MacEwan 2016
That's interesting! I'm considering applying to U of A now. Hopefully my grades make it through! Are you from Alberta?
-
Grant MacEwan 2016
Hey there! I am a grade 12 student in BC looking to apply to a nursing program (RN) out of high school. I have already considered a couple schools here but I'm also looking at schools in Alberta like MacEwan. I didn't even consider U of A because of what I read about it by the way. I wanted to apply right away for fall 2016 as soon as I saw the competitive average for GM, but I read that they look and accept people according to the date people have applied for the program, so I don't want to wast $110 on an application that won't even be looked at. Is this true? if so, Im hoping to apply for the jan 2016 intake when it opens.
