USF BSN & ABSN Hopefuls Summer 2015
At Me10- Untrue. I was accepted with a lower GPA than that. Make up for it in your essay. Even if you don't have a healthcare background (I did not), make your experiences and prior education relevant. Let them know what you have to offer. Remember, it's an opportunity to sell yourself to the college. A good essay can really make a difference.

USF 2014 applicants?
Hi! There are 3 considerations in your application. The college looks at your overall GPA, meaning the GPA earned from all of your undergraduate courses. They also consider your prerequisite GPA, so the grades you earned in A&P, Microbiology, Stats, etc. The other thing they consider is a 2 page personal statement detailing your motivations, plans for success, and prior volunteer, work, and leadership experience. Good luck!

A FB group for communication sounds like a good idea.

USF Accelerated Nursing Fall 2014
Not sure about how long the alternate list is. I know that those who were accepted have to confirm their intent to enroll by 6/27 and that they are also required to attend the nursing orientation on 7/15. If they don't their seat is automatically forfeited. So you should be hearing something fairly soon. I have only seen one or two other people on the board say they were an alternate so maybe there are not too many. Good luck!

USF Accelerated Nursing Fall 2014
I wrote about vounteer experience (not with a hospital) but was not asked for documented hours. It does not have to be hospital or even healthcare related. Just relate it back to how it will contribute to your ability to be a nurse, and to the nursing profession as a whole. Make your experiences relevant.

That was my rough estimate too when I worked out an estimate last year. So yeah, sounds about right. Time to start researching scholarships!

Tuition is $211.19 per credit hour. I'm not sure how many credit hours there will be in the first semester. And I think if you go over a certain amount of attempted credit hours you can potentially be charged double. Though I am not 100% sure about how that works.

USF 2014 applicants?
What division is everyone applying for? I'm applying for the 2nd degree route. I'm no sure if the different divisions find out at different times or if they tell everyone at once.

I'm not too optimistic either because of my gpa but I guess we'll see!

I have corresponded with her a number of times. I usually hear from her in the late afternoon, like 3 or 4 o'clock. But she can take a few days sometimes. I expect she has a lot of mail to answer.

Don't worry! You already know you've met the prerequisites after all. Have you tried messaging Joylynn Williams at the CON?
-
USF Accelerated Nursing Fall 2014
CON hasn't been too quick to respond the times I've tried to talk to them. I'd say give them a day at least and try again. Try to leave a message if there is a general voice mailbox. Sounds like. It's just an oversight.

That seems fishy. Maybe call or write to someone? If you didn't meet the minimum requirements I suspect they would have told you as much already.

I think - I'm not 100% - that 120 is the total BSN students accepted. 2nd degree is more in the range of like 24-36. I think I remember the advisor saying at the info session that there was like a 60% acceptance rate for 2nd degree but I could be wrong about that. I'd have to go look through my notes again.
