  1. At Me10- Untrue. I was accepted with a lower GPA than that. Make up for it in your essay. Even if you don't have a healthcare background (I did not), make your experiences and prior education relevant. Let them know what you have to offer. Remember, it's an opportunity to sell yourself to the college. A good essay can really make a difference.
  2. Hi! There are 3 considerations in your application. The college looks at your overall GPA, meaning the GPA earned from all of your undergraduate courses. They also consider your prerequisite GPA, so the grades you earned in A&P, Microbiology, Stats, etc. The other thing they consider is a 2 page personal statement detailing your motivations, plans for success, and prior volunteer, work, and leadership experience. Good luck!
  3. Couldn't find it for some reason. Is there a link?
  4. A FB group for communication sounds like a good idea.
  5. Not sure about how long the alternate list is. I know that those who were accepted have to confirm their intent to enroll by 6/27 and that they are also required to attend the nursing orientation on 7/15. If they don't their seat is automatically forfeited. So you should be hearing something fairly soon. I have only seen one or two other people on the board say they were an alternate so maybe there are not too many. Good luck!
  6. Yay! So glad to see other 2nd degree people coming out. I'm Natalie. Can't wait to meet you and all the other lurkers at the orientation next month.
  7. I wrote about vounteer experience (not with a hospital) but was not asked for documented hours. It does not have to be hospital or even healthcare related. Just relate it back to how it will contribute to your ability to be a nurse, and to the nursing profession as a whole. Make your experiences relevant.
  8. Welcome and congratulations :)
  9. That was my rough estimate too when I worked out an estimate last year. So yeah, sounds about right. Time to start researching scholarships!
  10. Tuition is $211.19 per credit hour. I'm not sure how many credit hours there will be in the first semester. And I think if you go over a certain amount of attempted credit hours you can potentially be charged double. Though I am not 100% sure about how that works.
  11. I did. Can't wait to meet you!
  12. From the 2nd degree thread: https://allnurses.com/florida-nursing/usf-accelerated-nursing-922534-page9.html
  13. From another thread it looks like decisions are starting to go out but I haven't heard anything yet.
  14. Mine still says committee too
