It's the RN super who is supposed to do the admits. And this admit came from another facility diff doc. RN got the mar faxed to her but never put orders in and left the bag full of meds at the desk. LPN was on the floor passing meds for 20 + res.

New admit from another facility. Admit nurse does not put orders in . Sack full of meds sent with res from other facility. Still no MAR. Do you log in all those meds when you have no current orders on the MAR nor med list to compare to ? What about narcotics do you log those in or not ?
  3. Admin told nurse on duty not to chart any of it. She was gonna chart it bUT when she called Admin and DON she was told not to. Just to get witness statements from the family member who destroyed the drugs at the facility.
  4. Caller : im calling for my test results. Me (nurse) : do you have a family member as a res here ?? Caller : I got an STD test there last week. Me : Not here you didn' Calle : so do you have my std results. Me : you might want to try the Health Dept. And good luck with your results. Hope it all works out for you. Btw.....I work in LTCF.
  5. A res who has a hx of accusatory behaviors and asks frequently for narcotics goes out on pass. Comes back few hrs later with rx bottle of narcotics. The family member destroys the pills and upsets the resident. Do you chart this ??
  6. In my facility we have 34 res for 2 nurses in rehab. and anywhere from 22 to 30 in LTC. But our rehab has more acute care res. and we chart on everyone, everything, from labs to bms and everything in between. it takes me longer to chart than it does to do my med pass. Plus we have a new NM who micromanages EVERYTHING !
  7. gosh this is so helpful. think i will have to print this one.
