  1. Hi Rose-Queen, Thank-you for responding to my request. I am looking for Orientation for nurses working in the community? I would like to know how to incorporate both theory and practice in a skills lab. Thanks
  2. Hello everyone, I am a new Nurse Educator and I am in the process of creating a schedule for new hire orientation. Are there any resources or templates available that would be beneficial? I would like to incorporate theory, case studies, and skills lab. Thanks in advance. Mel
  3. First and foremost, I would like to say thank you for your service. I have always had a strong admiration for nurses, particularly those that work at the bedside. During this pandemic, the sacrifice you and others have made has been astronomical, and I have immense gratitude. Finally, I am so happy to hear that you are getting better, and I wish you continued good health and professional success. Thanks again for sharing your story, and I pray that God continues to bless and watch over you.
  4. Hello everyone, I hope everyone is having a good week. I thought I would share s few points. Do you believe there is a season for everything? I am in the process of searching for my niche in nursing after almost ten years I have not yet found the right spot. I'm being a lot more selective this time around, which makes for a scary and frustrating job hunt. My social life prior to nursing was amazing, I had so much fun, a ton of friends, went out every weekend. Then I got married and life became about working and paying bills; social life took a nose dive. I have discontinued a lot friendships as a result of conflicting priorities. I moved to a new area, which still feels new despite the many years that have passed. Overall I miss my past life and the great memories, I had a great friend; we went everywhere together, talked everyday, sometimes three times a day, now my weekends are spent watching tv and listening to the radio. My friend has moved on. If I had the guts I would pack my bags get on a plane going anywhere and never look back. I'm guessing I'm wondering what season is this? of is this just a pity party. Thanks for listening.
  5. Thanks for the reply, you have some good points. I just don't know what to do, I have no work life balance, the weekends when i have them off are spent recovering. Don't get me wrong I am grateful to have a job, I just want to finish my day on time, I want to be able to do things after work. I just don't know where in nursing I fit, I have yet to find the job that suits my personal goals, I keep telling myself nursing was the right path but after almost ten years I have yet to find an area that I enjoy that doesn't leave me burned out.
  6. Hello all, I am thinking about switching to a casual position to have a more work life balance? Feeling really nervous; not sure what my gut is telling. Not sure if it's the fear speaking, but I have found that working everyday without flexibility can get quite overwhelming. Can anyone provide any insight? Thanks.
