  1. I work in a hospital and don't have any chronic health issues and I can tell you at the end of a busy shift my body hurts, bad. Mostly its my knees and back from power walking all night and very little sitting. I would opt for taking it easy on your body until your health issues are more under control. Just my two cents.
  2. So when and where do patients get vitals, history taken, ESI code assigned to them? Is that all done when they get in a room? Sounds very unsafe. How does management justify this system?
  3. You need to politely bring your concerns to you manager and your educator. The practices you've described are not safe, nor are they common practice in other peds EDs. For the sake of the child, change needs to happen soon! Please find it in yourself to be that advocate of change.
