  1. Subscribed and filled out the form! Fingers crossed!
  2. Hi- I woke up thinking of you all this morning. All of the MEPNs have been thinking of you this week, and (I'm sure) having flashbacks to this time last year. I'm sorry to hear from your posts that there has been a delay. It's easier said than done, but I hope you can enjoy the weekend and not worry too much.
  3. It took me forever...I just sent you a novel. :) If you go to the pulldown menu by your screen name, and select private messages you'll see it there.
  4. Hi, I will message you. Check your inbox in a few minutes.
  5. It doesn't look like the websites have been updated to reflect 2016 deadlines and schedules, but here's a good place to start: Admitted Students Resources | UCSF School of Nursing. There's probably not much variation from year to year.
  6. The FB group is called UCSF MEPN 2016
  7. I'm in for AGNP! Congratulations to those of you who have been accepted and decided to enroll. I'd like to get a FB group started soon, so if you're also accepted, please message me your contact info and I'll I invite you to a MEPN 2016 FB group. I do want to stress that if you didn't get in and UCSF is your first choice there's no reason to give up. It's true that many UCSF applicants are denied their first time out. I was devastated when I didn't get in last year, but I got good feedback as to why they decided against me. It forced me to think long and hard about why the program was still the right choice for me, to consider my strengths, to set to work on strengthening my weaknesses, and to take the risk of applying again. If you'd like to try again next year, and there's any way I can be of help I will not hesitate.
  8. Hi, I hope you're all well and not too anxious awaiting the news. I've tried hard to stay off the site to keep my nerves calm. I believe fpjc is right about the decision date - somewhere around Feb 19; and I feel like it was around Valentines Day last year that I got a rejection letter (a pdf, via the application site)...but first there was an email regarding a change in the application status... Enough about that. I'd just like to say how happy I was to meet those of you at the interviews and the mixer on 1/22 and 1/23. This group of finalists definitely has a lot of heart and a great diversity of experiences to bring to the program. I loved hearing some of your stories about how you came to choose nursing, and really (REALLY) hope to be able to get to know you as classmates. Sappy much? Maybe I am PMSing a tiny bit, but I do mean what I said. :) -Alex
  9. Hello everyone! Check your email for an invitation to a meet & greet with current MEPN students. There will be two sessions - one on Saturday January 23 or January 30, from 10:30am-12:30pm.
  10. I wish I had answers for you...If I did, I'd be 1/2 way through my first MEPN year! I'm just working on being able to articulate why this program is ideal for me, and why I'm a good fit...
  11. Deep breaths. Looking forward to meeting those of you in the a.m. session on 1/22.
  12. Hi, Last year there were two sessions per day, morning and afternoon. For now, I would reserve the whole day...but day-of, you'll be asked to arrive either around 8am or 12pm. There should be a brief presentation with remarks from an administrator and an opportunity for some Q&A. Last year they provided lunch for the afternoon group. I cannot recall whether we drew appointment times or if they were preassigned but, depending on your place in line, you could be in and out fairly quickly or waiting in the classroom with other candidates. It's a chance to talk with others and eat, or to review your notes and collect yourself...They also offered brief tours of the department and surrounds that you might take before or after your interview. Last year about 1 month elapsed between the finalist notifications and interview confirmations, so hopefully they'll be out momentarily - by email. Hope this helps!
  13. never mind- I see the campus question was already answered. :)
  14. It's good to plan ahead - especially with rental prices being so high in the Bay Area. There are a few student (shared) and student/family (private) apartments. I believe they use a lottery system, and you're able to live there two years once you get in...but don't quote me.
